Hornets to Face EMU on Tuesday in Semifinals
LEXINGTON, Va. --- Senior Kyle
Symczak scored the only goal of the game to help the
sixth-seeded Lynchburg College men's soccer team defeat
third-seeded Washington & Lee University on Sunday in the Old
Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament quarterfinal
round.
After a scoreless first half, Symczak netted an unassisted goal at
56:57 to give Lynchburg the 1-0 lead which would stand as the final
score.
Sophomore goalkeeper Michael
Releford made four saves in the game, including three in
the second half to help preserve the lead for LC.
Washington & Lee (8-5-4) goalkeeper Ben Petitto made two saves
for the Generals.
Lynchburg (6-8-4) will face the winner of the Bridgewater College
and Eastern Mennonite University game on Tuesday at a site and time
to be announced. Bridgewater and Eastern Mennonite face off at 7
p.m. on Sunday night.
