Lynchburg Owns Top Seed for Second Straight Season

FOREST, Va. --- Lynchburg College made it through the conference schedule nearly unscathed as the Hornets finished the 2011 ODAC regular season with a 10-0-1 record to secure the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Women’s Soccer Tournament.

Virginia Wesleyan College locked up the second seed thanks to its win over Randolph-Macon College on Tuesday evening.  The Marlins join Lynchburg College as two of four teams that will host quarterfinals on Saturday, October 29 at times yet to be determined.  Roanoke College and Bridgewater College will also welcome conference foes to their campuses as the third and fourth seeds, respectively.  The Maroons earned the higher spot via head-to-head tie-breakers with the Eagles.

Washington and Lee University will make the quick trip up I-81 to Bridgewater as the fifth seed.  Sixth-seeded Guilford College will travel to Salem to face Roanoke, and Randolph-Macon College makes a return trip to Virginia Beach for a rematch with the Marlins.  Emory & Henry College holds the down eighth seed and will travel to Lynchburg for its opening round tilt.

ODAC tournament action begins Saturday, October 29, with four quarterfinal matchups to be played at the highest four seeds.  The winners will play Wednesday, November 2, at the two highest remaining seeds.  The ODAC Championship will take place on Saturday, November 5, on the campus of the remaining highest seed.
