Roanoke Tops Shenandoah, Heads to First Title Game Since 2007

The Lead: The Roanoke College Women's Soccer team defeats second-seeded Shenandoah to move on to the ODAC Championship against top-seeded Lynchburg on Sunday for the first time since 2007.
 
How it Happened

  • Sixth-seeded Roanoke College pulled off the upset over second-seeded Shenandoah in the ODAC Semifinals.
  • Senior Lauren O'Brien put away the lone goal of the match in the 77th minute after gathering a cross from Linnea Kremer and finding the back of the net.  
  • RC was able to pepper Shenandoah keeper Erin Septer with shots throughout the entire match by outshooting the hornets 15-6.
  • Sarah Dvorak collected two saves in the net for the Maroons while Septer had eight for the Hornets.

Up Next: The Roanoke College Women's Soccer Team will head back up to Lynchburg College on Sunday where the ODAC Women's Soccer Championship will be held at Shellenberger Field at 1:00 p.m.
