ODAC Players of the Week

FOOTBALL
DEVAN SPROLES, Emory & Henry, Junior,
Linebacker
Sproles, a junior from Norton, Va.,
helped the Emory & Henry defense hold Randolph-Macon to just 10
points as E&H opened its ODAC schedule with a 17-10 win.
Sproles recorded 10 or more tackles for the third straight week,
and now leads the ODAC with 53 total tackles. He made 11 stops from
his linebacker position, but also intercepted a pair of passes. His
second interception preserved a 3-0 second quarter lead and perhaps
the flow of the rest of the game as he intercepted a pass in the
Wasps' end zone with R-MC on the three-yard line. E&H scored on
the ensuing drive, opening up a 10-0 advantage.

FOOTBALL
LUKE HEINSOHN, Washington and Lee,
Junior, Running Back
Heinsohn, a junior from
Charlottesville, Va., helped lead Washington and Lee to a 63-0 win
over Guilford on Saturday by rushing for a season-high 167 yards
and a career-high four touchdowns on just 12 carries. Heinsohn
averaged 13.9 yards per carry, scoring on touchdown runs of 2
yards, 4 yards, 23 yards and 63 yards. For the season, Heinsohn has
rushed for 423 yards and an ODAC-high eight touchdowns on 66
carries. The 2010 ODAC rushing champion, Heinsohn's 423 yards are
currently third in the conference.

FIELD HOCKEY
LINDSAY LEONARD, Lynchburg, Junior,
Attack
Leonard, a junior from Yorktown, Va.,
picks up her third weekly award of the season. Leonard scored five
goals last week with four of them coming in one game against ODAC
rival Roanoke College. She added another goal against Washington
& Lee University to bring her total to five on the week.
Leonard ranks first in the ODAC in points (34) and goals (14).

GOLF
NOAH RATNER, Guilford,
Junior
Ratner, a junior from Asheville, N.C.,
collected his first collegiate individual tournament title and led
the Quakers to a tie for second place in the team standings in
perhaps the most high profile event of the fall season. Ratner
posted a 3-under par 213 (72-70-71) to finish atop a field that
included most of the top finishers from the 2011 NCAA Division III
National Championships last spring, as well as other top-ranked
teams. Ratner was the only player to finish under par for the
tournament. The Gordin Classic-NCAA Division III Preview was played
at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. That venue
will serve as the host site of the 2012 NCAA Division III
Championships in mid-May.

MEN'S SOCCER
BRIAN WHITE, Roanoke, Sophomore,
Forward
White, a sophomore from Virginia
Beach, Va., scored three goals for the Maroons last week, including
the game-winner in overtime to defeat Averett, 1-0. He added two
more tallies in a 3-0 win over Eastern Mennonite to push Roanoke
four points clear of the second place Royals in the ODAC standings.
White is currently tied for second in the ODAC with seven goals
scored and third with 14 points.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
DESSI DUPUY, Lynchburg, Freshman,
Forward
Dupuy, a freshman from Lynchburg, Va.,
picks up her second weekly award after collecting 22 points last
week. Dupuy scored 11 goals in three games played. She tallied five
goals against Eastern Mennonite University, tying a school record
for most goals in a single game. Dupuy added three goals against
conference opponent Hollins University and added another three in
the victory over Meredith College. Her 20 total goals are five
short of the school record for most goals in a season. She has
scored a goal in eight straight games. Out of the 26 goals
Lynchburg scored last week, 11 came from Dupuy. She ranks first in
the ODAC in goals (20) and points (45).

VOLLEYBALL
LINDSEY DEE, Washington and Lee, Senior,
Middle Hitter
Dee, a senior from Tallahassee, Fla.,
was effective on both offense and defense in helping Washington and
Lee to a 3-0 week that included a pair of wins over conference
opponents. Dee collected 23 kills and hit .500 for the week, but
also registered 15 total blocks in the three matches, including
eight solo stoppers. The Generals' middle went for five kills and
one block in a 3-0 win over Eastern Mennonite. She continued with
four kills and eight blocks (five solo) in a 3-0 victory at
Virginia Wesleyan. The trip to VWC including a match against Mary
Washington, in which Dee smashed 14 kills to go with six blocks and
an ace in a 3-0 triumph. Dee currently leads the ODAC with 56 total
blocks and 24 solos. She is also third in the league in hitting at
a .306 clip.

CROSS COUNTRY
SEAN WHITSON, Virginia Wesleyan,
Senior
Whitson, a senior from Stephens City,
Va., posted the ODAC's top eight-kilometer time of the season at
the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University. He
finished the course in a time of 25:07, good enough for sixth
overall. His time is also the second-best 8K time in Virginia
Wesleyan men's cross country history.

CROSS COUNTRY
OLIVIA MILLS, Bridgewater,
Junior
Mills, a junior from Fredericksburg,
Va., earns her second weekly award of the season. Mills finished
third overall at the Don Cathcart Invitational at Salisbury
University to lead the Eagles to a third-place team finish. Mills
was second among D-III runners with a time of 21:37. The time was a
new Bridgewater 6K course record and marks the fastest 6K time in
the ODAC this season.
