ODAC Players of the Week

FOOTBALL
ROB LOOK, Washington and Lee, Senior, Linebacker
Look, a senior from Dallas, Texas, helped lead Washington and Lee to a 34-30 win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday by totaling a career-high 17 tackles and one sack. Look made one of the key plays in the game when he sacked Randolph-Macon quarterback Zac Naccarato for a loss of nine yards on a 3rd-and-goal from the 2-yardline with just over four minutes remaining. It forced the Yellow Jackets to settle for a 29-yard field goal and allowed the Generals to take the lead and score the game-winning touchdown on the ensuing possession. For the season, Look leads W&L with 62 tackles, 2.0 sacks and one interception.

FOOTBALL
CHARLIE WESTFAL, Washington and Lee, Senior, Quarterback
Westfal, a senior from New Canaan, Conn., lead Washington and Lee to a 34-30 come-from-behind win over Randolph-Macon by rushing 17 times for 98 yards and completing 7-of-12 passes for 231 yards and one touchdown. Westfal led the Generals on a pair of scoring drives in the fourth quarter, rushing for 45 yards and converting a 4th-and-2 and a 3rd-and-10 on the game-tying drive with 9:26 left in the game. He also rushed in a two-point conversion to tie the game at 27-27. Then, trailing 30-27 with 3:55 to go, Westfal led W&L on a 69-yard drive, completing a 62-yard pass play to Alex Evans that led to the game-winning score with 2:09 left in the game. With his 329 yards of total offense, Westfal moved to within 147 yards of setting a new W&L record for career total offense (6,237 yds.).

FIELD HOCKEY
LINDSAY LEONARD, Lynchburg, Junior, Attack
Leonard, a junior from Yorktown, Va., picks up her fifth weekly honor by leading the Hornets to a 5-0 shutout victory over then second-ranked Franklin & Marshall College on Tuesday night. Leonard played a part in four of the five goals as she notched a hatrick and assisted on one other tally. She broke a 0-0 tie in the 56th minute with her first goal of the contest, and then followed that with another tally 78 seconds later. She struck again in the 63rd minute for a 4-0 lead, and assisted Nicole Marburger on the game's final goal in the 67th minute. Leonard leads the ODAC in points (51) and goals scored (22). Entering last week, she was fifth in the country in points per game (3.67) and sixth in goals per game (1.58). She has registered at least one point in all but one game this season, and has scored two goals in 6-of-13 games played.

GOLF
NOAH RATNER, Guilford, Junior
Ratner, a junior from Asheville, N.C., picks up his second straight ODAC weekly award after winning the Golfweek Fall Invitational in Sandestin, Fla. In a field that consisted of five of the top 10 teams in NCAA head-to-head rankings by Golfstat (www.golfstat.com) entering the weekend, Ratner and Guilford completed wire-to-wire victories. Ratner opened with a tournament-low 66 on the par the 71 Raven Golf Club track, the third lowest 18-hole total in school history. He followed that with a pair of three-under par 69's to finish with a nine-under school-record total of 204, three shots clear of Hudson Keener from LaGrange College. The Quakers carded rounds of 290, 296 and 288 (+22) to win by nine strokes over Illinois Wesleyan University and the University of Texas at Tyler. Ratner currently leads the ODAC with a 69.5 per round stroke average covering six rounds of play.

MEN'S SOCCER
DREW CLAYTOR, Roanoke, Senior, Midfielder
Claytor, a senior from Greensboro, N.C., helped lead Roanoke to a pair of ODAC victories on the road last week with a goal and an assist. He opened his week with the only score in a 1-0 win at Guilford College, marking his second goal of the season. He followed that with an assist on the tying goal in a game Roanoke would eventually win, 3-1, at Randolph-Macon College. Claytor has five assists on the season, tied for the team-high and second in the ODAC.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
ANGELA BOSCO, Lynchburg, Sophomore, Forward
Bosco, a sophomore from Huntington Station, N.Y., helped lead Lynchburg to a pair of ODAC victories last week. She had a hand in both goals of the Hornets 2-0 win over Roanoke to open the week. She assisted Jessica Gonzalez on the game's first goal in the 20th minute, and then notched LC's second tally in the 48th minute. Later in the week, she record an assist in the Hornets' 7-0 win over Randolph. Bosco is third on the team with 12 goals and five assists. She is tied for third in the ODAC in goals scored and sits fourth in points (29).

SWIMMING
LAUREN KASOFF, Washington and Lee, Sophomore
Kasoff, a sophomore from Owings Mills, Md., started her second campaign with two individual event victories as Washington and Lee defeated Centre on Saturday at Cy Twombly Pool. She finished tops in both the 200-yard butterfly (2:16.40) and 200-yard IM (2:15.78) while taking fourth in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:03.38. She also helped the ‘B’ 200-yard medley relay team to a second-place finish (1:57.59).

VOLLEYBALL
M.A. BOLES, Washington and Lee, Sophomore, Outside Hitter
Boles, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, led the Generals to three wins in three days as W&L wrapped up ODAC play with a perfect 10-0 conference record (25-2 overall). The Generals posted wins over Randolph-Macon, which was previously undefeated in conference play, Randolph and Lynchburg. Boles averaged 15.7 kills, and 11.3 digs per match (3.9 k/set, 2.8 d/set) last week. She posted 20 kills and 14 digs in a 3-1 win over Randolph-Macon on Thursday. She followed that with 12 kills, nine digs and a pair of service aces in a 3-0 win over Randolph on Friday. Boles capped her week with 15 kills, 11 digs and a pair of aces in a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Lynchburg on Saturday. Boles is currently second in the ODAC with 321 kills and 3.73 kills per match.

CROSS COUNTRY
TIM SMITH, Roanoke, Senior
Smith, a senior from Roanoke, Va., wins an ODAC weekly award for the fourth time as he set a new personal season-high time on an eight-kilometer course at the Blue Ridge Invitational hosted by Appalachian State. Smith completed the race in 25:42.90 to finish 19th overall and first among NCAA Division III competitors in the heavy Division I field. This marks the fourth time that Smith has either won a race or been the first D-III competitor to cross the finish line this season.

CROSS COUNTRY
LAUREN SCHULTZ, Washington and Lee, Junior
Schultz, a junior from Hopkinton, Mass., placed 18th out of 201 runners at the Royal Cross Country Classic hosted by Queens University of Charlotte on Friday. She was the top NCAA Division III competitor to complete the race in a field consisting largely of Division I and II competition. She completed the five kilometer course in 18:18.98, setting a new ODAC seasonal top-time, as well as a personal record, at that distance.
