ODAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

THRU WEEK PRIOR TO: NOVEMBER 29, 2011

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Manny Hernandez, Lynchburg, Sophomore, Forward
Hernandez, a sophomore from Clifton Park, N.Y., put together a pair of 21-point games to help Lynchburg to a 2-0 week and a 5-1 start to the 2011 campaign. Against Marymount (Va.) on Tuesday, Hernandez came off the bench and was perfect from the field as he connected on all eight of his field goals. Included in that effort was a 5-for-5 showing from beyond the arc towards a career-high 21 points. He also added a rebound. Hernandez was back at it on Saturday as he matched is career-best on 8-of-13 shooting, including two more makes from three-point territory. He also hit three foul shots and added four rebounds and three steals in the win over Goucher. For the week, Hernandez shot .762 (16-of-21) from the field and .778 (7-of-9) from deep.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Jessica Mullen, Bridgewater, Junior, Guard
Mullen, a junior from Purcellville, Va., tossed in a career-high 31 points in Bridgewater’s lone game during Thanksgiving week to lead the Bridgewater Eagles women’s basketball team to a 74-68 victory over Lynchburg in the ODAC opener for both squads. Mullen was 10-of-17 from the field, including 2-of-3 from long-range, to lead the Bridgewater offense. From the charity stripe, Mullen was a perfect 9-for-9. The junior guard also chipped in two assists and a pair of steals on the evening. She is currently third in the ODAC in scoring (16.0) and free throw percentage (93.3).
