ODAC Players of the Week

Thru Week Prior to: February 10, 2014

BASEBALL
Justin Morrison, Guilford, Jr., Pitcher
Morrison, a junior from High Point, N.C., posted a win and a save while throwing 10.1 innings over three games to start the season for the Quakers. He picked up his victory in an 11-0 triumph over NCAA Division II Bluefield State. He tossed six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and a walk while fanning seven. He picked up his first save of the year on Saturday against Berry College, preserving a 10-9 win with 1.1 innings of work. He gave up two runs in that stint, the same amount he surrendered in three innings during his opening outing at Piedmont. He fanned three in that appearance.

BASEBALL
Wil Parsons, Lynchburg, Jr., 2B/SS
Parsons, a junior from Lynchburg, Va., smacked six hits in his first eight at bats to lead LC to an early season sweep of Averett. In a 17-4 season-opening triumph, Parsons went 5-for-5, setting career-highs in hits and with five runs scored. He belted a pair of doubles and drove in three runs while also drawing a walk. In a much tighter second game, Parsons went 1-for-3 as he came around to score the winning run in a 3-2 victory over the Cougars.

INDOOR TRACK
Randy Lott, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr.
Lott, a senior from Virginia Beach, Va., put together a strong showing at the Vince Brown Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport University. Lott was the top NCAA Division III finisher in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, posting top-three ODAC times in both events. He placed fifth overall and tied atop the ODAC in the 60-dash with a time of 6.98 seconds. He improved to second overall in the 200-dash with a time of 22.86, currently third in the conference. Lott also ran the lead-off leg of the 4x400-meter relay, placing second overall and moving up to fourth in the ODAC ranks with a time of 3:29.83.

INDOOR TRACK
Kristen Trice, Bridgewater, So.
Trice, a sophomore from Glen Allen, Va., won two events and finished second in a third at the Crusader Invitational hosted by Susquehanna University. Trice leapt higher than the rest in the high jumper, clearing 5' 3.75" (1.62m) to take over the #1 position in the ODAC. Her other victory came in the triple jump via a 36' 5" (11.10m) leap. That ranks second in the ODAC behind her own top mark by 2.5-inches. Trice added a second place showing in the triple jump (16' 8.75" -- 5.10m).

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Mike Ehilegbu, Randolph, Sr, Guard
Ehilegbu, a senior from Raleigh, N.C., put together a strong week in which he helped lead the WildCats to a 1-1 week. In a 71-62 win over Emory & Henry, Ehilegbu poured in 28 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field that included 4-of-6 from three-point territory. In the process of notching a new career-high, he recorded his 1,000th career-point, becoming the third WildCat to reach that milestone. He chipped in four rebounds, two assists and a steal versus the Wasps. In a 65-63 buzzer-beating loss to Virginia Wesleyan, Ehilegbu against shot better than 60-percent on the way to 20 points and nine rebounds. He was 8-of-12 from the field, adding three steals and an assist. For the season, Ehilegbu is averaging 13.4 points per game. He's fourth in the ODAC with 32 steals and ninth in rebounding (6.7 rpg).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Shannon Allan, Lynchburg, Jr., Forward
Allan, a junior from Warwick, N.Y., helped the Hornets to a pair of ODAC victories to take hold of second place in the ODAC standings. Allan poured in 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting in a 69-61 home win over Guilford. She knocked down 5-of-7 from deep in addition to pulling down seven rebounds. She also registered an assist, a steal and a blocked shot. Allan put together a second 25-point effort against Bridgewater, but it was her three-pointer with 11-seconds to play that secured the one-point win for LC via a 79-78 result on the road. She was 10-of-18 from the field, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. She chipped in six rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot. For the season, Allan is fifth in the ODAC in scoring at 15.7 points per game. She's also fourth in free throw shooting (84.9%) and sixth in three-point percentage (35.2%).
