FOOTBALL
Tom Solak, Randolph-Macon, Jr., Defensive
End
Solak, a junior from Richmond, Va.,
helped the Yellow Jackets to a 34-10 road win at Catholic. R-MC
shutout the Cardinals in the second half, allowing just three
points over the final 57 minutes of the contest. Solak led the unit
with 11 total tackles, including seven solo. He notched 1.5 tackles
for a loss, including a sack that costed CUA 13 yards of offense
and stalled a drive. Solak was also solid in pass defense as he
intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter and broke up two other
pass attempts. Randolph-Macon held Catholic to just 219 yards of
total offense.

FOOTBALL
Matt Pawlowski, Guilford, So.,
Quarterback
Pawlowski, a sophomore from
Greensboro, N.C., led Guilford to a school-record 705 yards of
total offense in a 56-29 home win over Shenandoah on Saturday.
Pawlowski set Guilford's record for pass completion percentage
(83.9 - 7th in ODAC history) as he connected on 26-of-31 passes for
360 yards and six touchdowns, all career highs. The six TDs rank
fourth in school history and tie for sixth with several individual
in the conference record books. He completed passes to eight
different receivers, including a 75-yard touchdown pass to Adam
Smith in the third quarter. Overall, Pawlowski accounted for 401
yards of total offense (added 41 -yards rushing). He moved into
fifth place in Guilford career passing yardage (3,594) and passing
touchdowns (27) lists. He's currently second in the ODAC with 12 TD
passes, while throwing just one interception.

FIELD HOCKEY
Rachel Loy, Bridgewater, So.,
Midfielder
Loy, a sophomore from Millerstown,
Pa., helped extend the Eagles winning streak of Roanoke to six
straight games with a 3-2 overtime victory on Friday. Just over
seven minutes into the extra frame, Loy notched the game-winner to
secure the Eagles third straight victory and seventh in the last 10
games. Loy has now scored in three straight contests. She now has
nine points on the season with four goals and an assist.

GOLF
Elizabeth Cheng, Hollins,
Sr.
Cheng, a senior from Virginia Beach,
Va., tied for second at the Washington and Lee Fall Invitational
last week. She posted a 12-over par 156 with a pair of sub-80
rounds of 77 and 79 on the par 72, 5,801-yard layout at the
Lexington Country Club. She bested four of the top-10 golfers in
nation, as rated by the October 9th rankings release by
Golfstat.

MEN'S SOCCER
Corey Sindle, Randolph, Sr.,
Forward
Sindle, a senior from Gloucester, Va.,
helped keep 17th-ranked (by the NSCAA) Randolph unbeaten on the
season in earning his second weekly award of the year. He opened
the week with the WildCats second goal in a 3-1 home win over
Hampden-Sydney. The tally moved him into a three-way tie for ninth
place on the ODAC's all-time goals scored list. On Saturday, Sindle
provided the assist on the WildCats' first goal in a 2-1 win over
nationally 22nd-ranked (by D3soccer.com) Roanoke. Sindle currently
leads the ODAC in both goals (12) and points (30) and is tied atop
the league in assists (6).

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Ashley Barnes, Roanoke, So.,
Midfielder
Barnes, a sophomore from Elgin, Ill.,
helped lead Roanoke to a pair of conference wins over Randolph and
Virginia Wesleyan. Barnes opened her week with a career-best four
goals in a 6-0 win over the WildCats. The four tallies tied RC's
single-game scoring record. She followed that up with one of two
goals in the Maroons' 2-0 win over the Marlins. Roanoke has now won
four straight games, all coming in conference action. Barnes leads
the team with 12 points on six goals.

SWIMMING
Elisabeth Holmes, Washington and Lee,
Fr.
Holmes, a freshman from Raleigh, N.C.,
kicked off her collegiate career with a trio of first place
individual finishes in helping Washington and Lee open the season
with a 161-101 triumph over Centre. Holmes tapped first in the
200-yard freestyle (1:58.54), the 500-yard freestyle (5:16.83) and
the 200-yard individual medley (2:14.44). She also swam a leg on
the Generals' 400-yard freestyle relay team, which placed second in
3:45.71.

VOLLEYBALL
Lindsay Kallam, Bridgewater, Sr.,
Setter
Kallam, a senior from Virginia Beach,
Va., helped lead the Eagles to a 2-2 week that included a 3-0 win
at Virginia Wesleyan and a 3-2 triumph at Salisbury University.
BC's setter handed out 108 assists over four matches, including 40
in the Eagles win over the Sea Gulls. She also had four kills, nine
digs and two blocks in that match. Against VWC, she passed out 24
assists with nine more digs and hit .571 with four kills. For the
week, Kallam hit .400 (9-1-20) with 30 total digs and four blocks.
She is currently second in the ODAC with 664 assists and third at
8.0 assists per game.

CROSS COUNTRY
Alex Cooper, Emory & Henry,
Fr.
Cooper, a freshman from
Christiansburg, Va., ran a personal-best 28.16 at the Royals Cross
Country Challenge, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte. The
event, which featured mostly NCAA Division I and II programs, was
run on an eight-kilometer course. Cooper placed 130th overall.

CROSS COUNTRY
Leslie Sierra, Emory & Henry,
Fr.
Sierra, a freshman from Front Royal,
Va., ran a personal-best 21:20 at the Royals Cross Country
Challenge, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte. The event,
which featured mostly NCAA Division I and II programs, was run on a
five-kilometer course. Sierra placed 169th overall.
