ODAC Players of the Week

INDOOR TRACK
Ian McDonald, Washington and Lee, So.,
Mid-Distance/Distance
McDonald, a sophomore from Richmond,
Va., repeats as the ODAC athlete of the week after setting a new
school record and achieving and ODAC seasonal top-time. Competing
at the Hilton Garden Inviational, McDonald placed fifth overall and
first among NCAA Divsion III student-athletes with a time of
4:15.24 in the mile run. The mark set a new W&L record as well
as tops the ODAC top-times list by more than nine seconds. It is
also ranked ninth in the country. He went on to run a leg of the
Generals' 4x400-meter relay team, which finished 18th overall and
tops among D-III squads in a time of 3:30.06.

INDOOR TRACK
Jaclyn Mohlmann, Shenandoah, Sr.,
Pentathlete
Mohlmann, a senior from Annandale,
Va., starred at the Captains Invitational hosted by Christopher
Newport University. Mohlmann won the pentathlon, besting a
15-person field that included NCAA Division I and II athletes. She
posted 3,283 total points, which ranks third in NCAA Division III
so far this season. She won three of the five events competed,
registering victories in the 60-meter hurdles (9.58), high jump
(1.61m; 5' 3.25") and the 800-meter run (2:29.44). She placed third
in the shot put (9.69m; 31' 9.5") and eighth in the long jump
(4.91m; 16' 1.5"). Mohlmann also competed in the 400-meter dash,
placing 16th overall and fourth among D-III competitors in 1:02.63.
That mark set a new Shenandoah program record.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Matt McCarthy, Guilford, Sr.,
Guard
McCarthy, a senior from Rockville,
Md., picks up his second straight weekly award after leading the
Quakers to two more ODAC victories to extend their current winning
streak to six games. In a 91-88 double-overtime victory at Emory
& Henry, McCarthy scored a career-high and ODAC season-best 44
points, which marks the most scored by an ODAC player since 2008
and the fifth highest total in NCAA Division III this season.
McCarthy scored 13 of the Quakers 21 points in the overtime
periods, including 10 in the second extra frame to secure the win.
He finished 16-of-29 from the field, nailing seven three-pointers
along the way. He was 5-of-5 from the foul line, adding three
rebounds, three assists and a steal. I na 64-48 win over Eastern
Mennonite, McCarthy drilled five more three-pointers on the way to
15 points. He added an a rebound an an assist. For the week, he was
12-of-25 from downtown, shooting 52.5-percent (21-of-40) overall.
McCarthy is currently fourth in the ODAC in scoring (16.5 ppg) and
overall points scored (313). He leads the ODAC in three-pointers
made (66), is third in free throw shooting (51-of-62; 82.3%) and
fourth in steals (37).

SWIMMING
Bobby Brajdic, Randolph-Macon,
Sr.
Brajdic, a senior from Roanoke, Va.,
earns his fourth weekly award of the season after leading R-MC to
wins in a dual meet against Greensboro and a tri-meet with
Hampden-Sydney and Ferrum. He won all five individual events in
which he competed, adding a first and second place showing in two
relays. Against Greensboro, Brajdic won the 100-yard and 200-yard
backstroke events in 0:53.82 and 1:58.52, respectively. He also won
the 200-yard individual medley in 1:58.54. He and his teammates won
the 200-yard medley relay in 1:41.01. In the tri-meet, Brajdic won
the 200-meter butterfly in 2:13.80, and followed suit in the
200-meter backstroke in 2:15.17. The Yellow Jackets finished second
in the 200-meter freestyle relay in 1:43.57.

SWIMMING
Allison Fowler, Emory & Henry,
So.
Fowler, a sophomore from Morristown,
Tenn., earns her second weekly award of the season after helping
the Wasps to resounding wins over King College and Mars Hill
College -- both NCAA Division II -- in a tri-meet last week. Fowler
won three individual events and aided the Wasps in a relay victory.
All three of Fowler's individual times would rank inside the ODAC's
top-10. She won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:01.26. She also stopped
the watches first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.94) and the
200-yard individual medley (2:15.89). She posted a butterfly leg of
0:27.41 to help E&H win the 200-yard medley relay in
1:53.84.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Katie Anderson, Randolph-Macon, Jr.,
Forward
Anderson, a junior from Beaverdam,
Va., picks up her second weekly award after posting a pair of
double-doubles to give her a dozen on the season, tops in the ODAC.
She opened with a 19-point 15-rebound effort in a 73-53 road win at
Randolph College. She added an assist and two steals to her stat
line. Anderson followed that with 28 points and 12 rebounds in a
loss to Lynchburg College (73-62). She was 7-of-12 from the field
and cashed out 13-of-15 shots from the charity stripe. She added
two assists and three steals to her daily effort. For the season,
Anderson is fifth in the ODAC in scoring (15.2 ppg) and total
points scored (274). She leads the ODAC in rebounding (11.8 rpg),
total rebounds (213) and defensive rebounds (156).
