Reminiscing with Megan Schultz and Carroll LaHaye
FOREST, Va. --- In the third installment of the ODAC 40 Top Moments features, we head to Randolph-Macon College to reminisce about a historic period in Yellow Jacket women's basketball history. Megan Schultz, formerly Megan Silva, and head coach Carroll LaHaye talk about reaching the national championship game in 2005 as well as about Schultz earning Division III national player of the year awards from several outlets.

R-MC's class of 2006 won 99 women's basketball games. That group included several standouts led by Schultz, who owns numerous Randolph-Macon and ODAC records. In 2006, Schultz won Division III national player of the year awards from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), D3hoops.com, and D-III News. She also earned the Jostens Trophy as the top Division III women's basketball student-athlete in the country. Schultz owns eight ODAC records including career points (2,371), field goals made (872), assists (700), and steals (446). She is the single-season leader in points (714 in 2006) and field goals made (267 in 2006), and single-game records for free throw made without a miss (16-of-16 vs. BC in 2005) and assists (15 vs. E&H in 2006).
During her time as a Yellow Jacket, Silva led R-MC to four straight seasons with 20 or more wins, a four-year overall record of 99-23 (81.0%) and ODAC record of 68-12 (85.0%), three conference championships and appearances in the NCAA Division III tournament, a National runner-up finish in the NCAAs in 2005 and the final eight in 2006, and rankings of #2 in the nation and #1 in the Division III South Region in both 2004-05 and 2005-06.

The conclusion of the 2015-16 athletic seasons etched 40 years of competition in the ODAC into the history books. In celebration of the accomplishments of conference member teams, coaches, and athletes, the ODAC will feature key milestones throughout the first 40 years of the conference. Each school has submitted a selection of top events, moments, tenures, and performances. The features developed by the ODAC will take several forms -- some audio interviews, others with video content, photo albums, and other pertinent items. All current 14 full-time member institutions will be featured throughout the season.
