ODAC Athletes of the Week | Track & Field, Volleyball

FOREST, Va. --- Day two of week 15 reporting is the final report for track & field and volleyball with their championships beginning this week and weekend. Those earning ODAC Athlete of the Week awards include (pictured from top and left): Courtney Berry from Washington and Lee volleyball, Jordynn Palethorpe and Natalie McCaffery from W&L women's track & field, Isaac Alderfer from Eastern Mennonite men's track & field, and Dan Kuntz from W&L men's track & field.

MEN'S OUTDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Dan Kuntz | Washington and Lee | Sr. | Jumps/Throws
Kuntz, a senior from Minneapolis, Minn., closed the regular season of the outdoor season with three top-five performances including a pair of wins at the W&L spring Term Kick-off. Kuntz claimed first in the triple jump at 12.75m (41-10.00) and tied for first in the high jump at 1.85m (6-0.75). He also set a new personal best in the javelin with a throw of 42.93m (140-10.00). On the year, Kuntz has the best mark in the conference in the high jump (1.88m), the fifth-best in the triple jump (12.96m) and the ninth-best in the javelin (42.93m).

MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Isaac Alderfer | Eastern Mennonite | Jr. | Mid-Distance
Alderfer, a junior from Broadway, Va., put the caps on the regular season in winning fashion at the W&L Spring Term Kick-Off. Alderfer won the 800-meter run in 1:55.10, a full 2.55 seconds faster than second place. That time, while not his best of the season, would still slot inside the ODAC's top five. He will enter the ODAC Championships as the #2 seed in the event at 1:53.86 behind Sam Llaneza (1:52.05) from Lynchburg.

WOMEN'S OUTDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Natalie McCaffery | Washington and Lee | Fy. | Throws
McCaffery, a first-year from Santa Barbara, Calif., set personal-best marks in all four throwing events at the W&L Spring Term Kick-Off to close the regular season ahead of the ODAC Championships. McCaffery finished second in the discus at 31.88m (118-5.00), fourth in the javelin at 31.25m (102-6.00), sixth in the shot put at 10.06m (33-0.25) and seventh in the hammer throw at 36.10m (118-5.00). In each of her four events, she registered a Top 8 mark in the league this season, highlighted by the fourth-best throw in the conference this year in the javelin. In the hammer, she registered the fourth-best mark in program history.

WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jordynn Palethorpe | Washington and Lee | Fy. | Sprints
Palethorpe, a first-year from Barrington, R.I., collected two wins to pace the Generals women's track and field team on Saturday at the W&L Spring Term Kick-Off. Palethorpe claimed first in the 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 1:01.48. She was also a member of the winning 4x100-meter relay that crossed the finish line in 50.43.

VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Courtney Berry | Washington and Lee | Sr. | Middle Blocker
Berry, a senior from Charlottesville, Va., led the Washington and Lee volleyball team to three victories last week. She recorded a W&L record 13 blocks, to go with 15 kills, in a 3-2 victory at Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday. Berry followed that with 12 kills on 16 attempts (.688 hitting percentage), four blocks and six digs in a 3-0 win over Shenandoah. She also had seven kills and two blocks in a 3-0 victory against Lynchburg on Sunday. For the week, Berry had 34 kills (3.09 k/s) on a .397 hitting percentage to go with 19 blocks (1.73 b/s), 10 digs and five service aces. She currently leads the conference in hitting percentage (.327) and is second in blocks per set (1.18).
