MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
BRANDON SPALDING, BRIDGEWATER COLLEGE

Spalding, a senior from Stuarts Draft, Virginia, earns his second ODAC weekly honor of the year after helping the Eagles to a fourth place finish at the JMU Invitational.  Spalding placed 11th overall with a time of 26:37.70.  The course length was set at 7,900 meters, just short of an 8K distance. 

Men's Cross Country Honor Roll
Ryan Van Alstine, LC Finished 16th at JMU with a time of 26:52.80 to pace a sixth place finish for the Hornets.
Kory Moody, VWC Helped the Marlins to a third place finish as the N.C. State Wolfpack Invitational with a 5K time of 17:15.00.

 


WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
ASHLEY ROANE, VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE
Roane, a senior from Chesapeake, Virginia, finished first for VWC in the N.C. State Wolfpack Invitational with a time of 20:28 in the 5K event.  It marked her third best 5K time ever and the fourth best in VWC history.  She now owns three of VWC's top four 5K times. Roane placed 23rd in a field of 111 runners. 

Women's Cross Country Honor Roll
Lindsay Fender, LC Helped the Hornets to a fifth place showing at the JMU Invitational with a time of 22:32.70; the distance for the course was a little longer than 5K at 5,200 meters.

 


FIELD HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALLIE WEIR, LYNCHBURG COLLEGE
Weir, a junior from Richmond, Virginia, notched the ninth hat-trick of her career to account for all of Lynchburg's goals in a 3-1 win over Stevenson on Saturday.  She also scored the Hornets lone goal in a 2-1 loss to #10 Johns Hopkins.  

Field Hockey Honor Roll
Brianna Jacques, BC Scored both goals in Bridgewater's 2-1 win over Transylvania.
Alyssa Derstine, EMU Notched a pair of goals in the Royals 3-1 win over Franklin & Marshall.
Jill Dixon, R-MC Scored three goals and added an assist in a 2-1 week for the Jackets; she scored twice in a win over Sweet Briar and added one goal and assist in a win over Goucher.
Emily Huston, RC Scored twice and assisted on another goal in the Maroons 8-0 win over Shenandoah.
Chelsea Baker, VWC Turned away 24 shots in a pair of VWC losses; made 15 stops against Gettysburg.

 


GOLFER OF THE WEEK
NICK DEAN, BRIDGEWATER COLLEGE
Dean, a sophomore from Elkton, Virginia, finished second in the individual standings at the Ted Keller Invitational. Dean finished with rounds of 71 and 75 to finish two strokes behind the medalist. Dean's effort helped lead the Eagles to the team title with two round total of 596 (+28 to par; 294-302).

Golf Honor Roll
Richard Adams, H-SC Shot a two round total of 150 to pace the Tigers and help H-SC to a fourth place finish.
Mike Butzgy, LC Paced the Hornets at the Ted Keller Invite with a 9-over-par 151, good for 11th place.
Max Wyndoff, R-MC Freshman got off to a good start for R-MC with a 156 showing at the Ted Keller Invite.

 


MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER  OF THE WEEK
CHRIS THOMAS, BRIDGEWATER COLLEGE

Thomas, a senior from Bowie, Maryland, scored two goals and added five assists in three matches this past week. Thomas scored one goal and assisted on two in BC's 3-2 overtime victory over Piedmont. Thomas had the assist on Ivan Barasic's game-winning goal in OT. Thomas added one goal and two assists in a 4-1 victory over Marymount and he had an assist on BC's lone goal in a 4-1 loss at Johns Hopkins. 

Men's Soccer Honor Roll
Mitchell Leap, EMU Notched a goal and an assist in both of Eastern Mennonite's wins last week, a 5-1 decision over Southern Virginia and a 2-1 OT win vs. Marymount.
P.J. Henson, E&H Scored twice in the Wasps 4-0 win over Averett last week.
Peter Truitt, GC Registered 12 saves between Guilford's two games last week; made seven saves vs. Greensboro.
Josh Reed, LC Scored twice in the Hornets victory over Greensboro, giving him eight goals on the season.
Kevan Quinn, R-MC Netted the game winning goal in the Jackets 2-1 win over Mary Washington.
Chris Burgin, W&L Registered the game-winning goal in the Generals' 2-1 win over Maryville.

 


 

WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CAITLIN BLAKE, RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE
Blake, a junior from Easton, Pennsylvania, registered eleven points this week. On Monday, she netted two goals and added an assist in R-MC's win over Mary Baldwin. Two days later, she tallied two goals and two assists in the Yellow Jackets' 6-1 victory against the College of Notre Dame. 

Women's Soccer Honor Roll
Loren Favale, E&H Scored two goals amongst the Wasps three wins, netting one against Bluefield (4-0) and the other vs. Randolph (2-0).
Jackie D'Orsaneo, GC Notched a goal and assisted on two others in Guilford's win over Randolph-Macon
Lynchburg Defense The Hornets' defense registered shutouts of both Greensboro (5-0) and Christopher Newport (3-0) to run their record to 5-0-1.
Kristen McCoy, RC Scored a goal each in Roanoke's two games, a win over Ferrum and a loss to W&L.
Kat Barnes, W&L Tallied a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in the Generals 4-1 win over Roanoke.

VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
RAENA WINTON, RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE
Winton, a sophomore from Magnolia, Texas, helped R-MC to a 5-1 week.  She was named MVP of the R-MC Tournament after registering 33 kills on 64 attempts and had just three errors.  She also dished out 11 assists and had 10 blocks on the defensive side of the ball, helping the Yellow Jackets knock off Mary Washington, Greensboro, N.C. Wesleyan Trinity. 

Volleyball Honor Roll
Erika Dirnagl, BC Collected 19 kills and hit .416 over a pair of BC conference wins; also had 11 digs.
Tabitha Bowman, EMU Registered 19 kills in 50 attempts with 10 digs in a 1-1 week for the Royals.
Taylor Phillips, GC Handed out 101 assists and picked up 35 digs over four matches for the Quakers last week.
Elena Kritter, LC In a 2-3 week for the Hornets, collected 69 digs and 48 kills over 22 games played; also had seven service aces.
Maggie Wagner, RC Hammered out 26 kills in wins over Southern Virginia and Mary Baldwin, hitting at a .524 clip with 28 digs.
Marissa Wood, VWC Dished out 85 assists over a trio of three-game match wins for the Marlins; also had 27 digs and five aces.
Rachael Phillips, W&L Had 30 kills to go with 26 digs in three straight-game wins for the Generals.
