BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KEVIN NALLY, VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE
Nally, a senior from Moore, Oklahoma, put together a
four-game hitting streak in a 4-0 week for Virginia Wesleyan,
hitting at a .500 clip (8x16). He was 3-for-5 in a 10-5 win over
Ramapo College and 3-for-4 in a 5-2 victory at Washington & Lee
University. He belted in five runs, scored three and had a total of
six stolen bases. Nally is now hitting at a .314 clip overall and
is second on the team in stolen bases, going 8-for-8 for the
season.
BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
BRYAN BREEDLOVE, LYNCHBURG COLLEGE
Breedlove, a junior from Suffolk, Virginia, started
against Emory & Henry College and went the distance allowing
one earned run on 10 hits, while fanning five Wasps. Earlier in the
week, Breedlove started against the Bishops of NC Wesleyan in a
staff day, allowing one run on two hits.

Mike Lenox, BC | Lenox continued his early season hitting tear, batting .600 with six RBIs in three games. Lenox was 3-for-5 with one RBI in a loss to Shenandoah. In the first game of a doubleheader against Guilford, an 8-6 loss, he was 2-for-4 with one RBI. In the second game, a 15-11 BC win, Lenox was 4-for-6 with two homers and four RBIs. For the season, he is now batting .500 with four homers and 20 RBIs in 10 games. |
Chris Harpine, EMU | Harpine helped the Royals to an ODAC split with Roanoke, tallying his team leading third and fourth home runs of the season against the Maroons. For the week, Harpine collected a team-high seven RBI to go along with a solid .286 batting average over six games. Harpine leads the team in home runs, RBI, and doubles while sitting third on the team with a .296 batting average. |
Bryan Loy, EMU | Loy, a converted catcher, went against a top team in the Ohio Valley region by pitching seven innings against Muskingum, allowing only three runs while scattering 10 hits. Loy posted a solid 3.86 earned run average for the week. |
Alex Starbuck, GC | Starbuck went 5-for-8 in Guilford's doubleheader split with Bridgewater... was 3-4 with a two-run homer and three runs scored in Guilford's opening game win... went 2-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in the nightcap... extended his hitting streak to a team-best 12 games. |
Drew Gurkin, GC | Gurkin worked out of a seventh-inning jam and earned his team-leading second save of the season in Guilford's win over Bridgewater. |
David Gaines, Jr., LC | Extended his team-high hitting streak up to 18 games, dating back to last season as the Hornets went 2-2 this week, but took both ODAC games against Emory & Henry. Gaines, who is hitting .471 on the season, connected for his team-best fifth homer of the season in a loss to NC Wesleyan. He also scored four times on the week. |
Nick Wilson, VWC | Wilson pitched in three games during a 4-0 week for the Marlins. He struck out six batters in that run, including a season-high five in a 10-5 win over Ramapo College. He also allowed just one earned run and walked only three batters. Wilson currently leads the VWC pitching staff with a 1.65 ERA. |
Byron Peyster, W&L | Led the Generals with a .444 batting average over five games last week. Peyster singled in the winning run in extra-inning wins over both Hampden-Sydney (5-4) and Westminster (Pa.) (5-4). Peyster drove in four runs and added two doubles and a stolen base as the Generals posted a 3-2 week. |
GOLFER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TRAE KRESINSKE, VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE
Kresinske, a junior from Virginia Beach, Virginia,
led VWC to a first-place finish in the Apprentice School Builder
Spring Invitational by taking medalist honors with a five-over par
77.
MEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WILL KEIGLER, WASHINGTON AND LEE
UNIVERSITY
Keigler, a junior from Timonium, Maryland, helped
lead the Generals to a 2-0 week by notching seven goals and three
assists over the two games. He posted two goals and three assists
in an 18-3 victory over DeSales on Wednesday, then notched a
career-high five goals in a 9-3 win over sixth-ranked Washington
College on Saturday. For the season, Keigler leads W&L in
scoring with 13 points on nine goals and four assists.

Eddie Bilinkas, LC | Bilinkas led the Hornets to a pair of non-conference victories last week. In a 17-7 win over Muhlenberg Wednesday, he tallied two goals and two assists, and followed up with an outstanding game Saturday against fifth-ranked Cabrini College in a 16-11 win, Bilinkas scored three times, assisted on two others, and added four ground balls. |
Tyler Midwinter, R-MC | Midwinter scored four goals, dished out one assist, and picked up five ground balls as the Yellow Jackets picked up their second victory of the season, a 13-9 win against Catholic. The freshman from Hamilton, Ontario, leads R-MC with seven goals. |
WOMEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LAURA NORRIS, VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE
Norris, a junior from Hollywood, Maryland, scored
four goals in a 15-7 win at Bridgewater College and followed that a
day later with a season-high five goals in a 16-7 win over
Greensboro College. She also had two goals in a 7-3 loss to
Rochester Tech during a 2-1 week for the Marlins. Norris has scored
at least one goal now in four consecutive games and leads VWC with
14 goals, four assists, and 18 points.

Deanna Welsch, LC | Welsch scored three goals and added two assists Friday as the Hornets defeated Shenandoah 17-7 in a non-conference game. The three tallies give her 100 goals for her career. |
Gina Valles, RC | Valles scored six goals and added four assists in two games last week. She had four goals and two assists in win against Mary Washington and added two goals and two assists in a loss to Elizabethtown in St. Croix. For the week, she also collected 10 draw controls and five ground balls. |
Meredith Freeman, W&L | Freeman led the No. 7 Generals to a 1-1 week. W&L defeated Bridgewater, 16-3, on Wednesday, before narrowly falling to No. 3 Franklin & Marshall, 11-9, on Saturday. Freeman totaled two goals and one assist in the win over Bridgewater and recorded a hat trick and dished out one helper in the loss to F&M. |
SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
EMILY MORRIS, BRIDGEWATER COLLEGE
Morris, a sophomore from Powhatan, Virginia, opened
her season with 12 RBIs in a doubleheader sweep over McDaniel
College. In the first game, Morris put the Eagles on top with a
run-scoring single in the first. She broke the game open with a
three-run homer in the fourth, giving BC a 4-0 lead en route to a
7-0 win. Morris was 2-for-4 with four RBIs. In the second game,
Morris was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and a homer and eight
RBIs. She finished the doubleheader with a .750 batting average
(6-for-8), 12 RBIs, 5 runs scored and a slugging percentage of
2.000.
SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
CLARISSA NORWICH, ROANOKE COLLEGE
Norwich, a sophomore from Hegans, Pennsylvania, picks
up her second weekly honor is as many weeks, this time from the
pitching circle. In 13 innings of work, she allowed only four
hits en route to a pair of wins, helping the Maroons to a 9-1
record and their best start since 2007. Her first victory
came against Rowan, currently just out of the national Top-25
according to the NFCA (www.nfca.org). Norwich no-hit
Rowan, walking only one batter and striking out one while facing 23
batters, two more than the minimum. She finished her week
with 11 strike outs in a 6-1 win over PSU-Altoona. She gave
up four hits and walked two in that contest.

Ashley Gills, BC | Gills opened the season with a complete-game no-hitter in a 7-0 victory over McDaniel. Gills struck out 10 and walked only one. McDaniel managed just two baserunners in seven innings as Gills also hit one batter. |
Dana Hall, EMU | Hall started seven of eight games for the Lady Royals this past week as EMU competed at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, Fla. Hall went 8-for-18 (.444) with a home run and five RBI. Her 12 total bases led EMU while she registered a team best 27 putouts. For the season Hall is .364 in nine games (out of 10) and is tied for second on the team in RBI and runs scored. |
Lisa Lee, EMU | Lee pitched in two games this past week and came out with an unblemished 0.00 earned run average while pitching a complete game shutout against Husson College. Lee went 1-1 for the week and leads the team in ERA, opposition batting average, and is tied for second in complete games |
Dana Dettmar, E&H |
Dettmar went 8-of-15 (.533) with two homers, a double and five RBI in a 3-1 showing for the Wasps at the Va. Wesleyan Beach Blast. On the season Dettmar is 15-of-30 (.500) with three homers and eight RBI. |
Julie Langseth, GC | Langseth hit .571 (4-7) with a double in two games with Averett... doubled in the opener, went 3-4 in the nightcap. |
Jessica Burcham, GC | Burcham yielded seven hits and two earned runs in a 3-2, 8-inning loss to Averett... walked three and struck out three... tossed her team-best second complete-game of the season. |
Katie Bruce, LC | Bruce was 4-for-15 from the plate this week. She hit two home-runs, including a grand slam, and drove in five runs while scoring five herself. In the circle, she threw two complete games this week and recorded two wins. She allowed just eight hits and two earned runs in 14 innings while striking out 14 batters. She held opposing batters to a .163 batting average and tossed a one-hit shutout against Meredith College on Saturday. |
Laura Bauer, R-MC | Bauer went 4-for-12 this weekend with a pair of RBI in a 2-2 showing for the Yellow Jackets. |
Katie Raulerson, R-MC | Raulerson picked up two wins in as many days this weekend. On Saturday, she pitched a complete-game shutout against Peace, striking out 6 and yielding just four hits. On Sunday, she earned another complete-game victory against NC Wesleyan. She struck out six while yielding just two runs. |
Katie Dunstan, VWC | Dunstan extended her current hitting streak to five consecutive games with five hits in a 4-0 run for VWC in the Beach Blast Tournament. She hit .500 in the four games and also scored two runs and drove in three. Dunstan is now hitting at a .316 clip, the current third best mark for the Marlins, who are now 6-2 overall. |
Brittaney Brown, VWC | Brown struck out a total of 22 batters in three pitching wins during a 4-0 run for VWC in the Beach Blast Tournament. She fanned eight batters in a 6-3 victory over NAIA power UVA-Wise, struck out a season-high nine batters in a 5-1 win over Frostburg State University, and tossed a one-hitter in a 9-1 win over Stevenson University. In addition to her pitching, Brown also recorded two hits for the Marlins in the tournament, including a three-run home run in a 6-0 win over New York's Polytechnic University. She now has 38 strikeouts on the season and owns a 2.39 ERA. |
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WILLIAM MOSS, HAMPDEN-SYDNEY COLLEGE
Moss, a junior from Fredericksburg, Virginia, went 3-0
this week at #1 singles, leading the Tigers to a pair of
victories. The two-time ODAC Player of the Year a 6-0, 6-0
decision against Randolph College on Friday. He followed that
up with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Virginia Wesleyan's #1 player.
Moss finished his weekend by defeating Eric Shulman from
Christopher Newport Unviersity, the #8 seeded player in the
region. Moss won 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. He is currently 4-0
from the #1 spot through four H-SC matches.

Michael Freeman, W&L | Freeman helped lead the Generals to a 2-0 week by winning both of his singles matches and one doubles match. He posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles and an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles in a 9-0 win over Randolph-Macon, then notched an 8-0 win at No. 6 singles in a 9-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan. |

KATIE TABB, WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
Tabb, a senior Minneapolis, Minnesota, helped the
Generals to a 9-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan College with a 6-4,
6-3 win at #1 singles to go with an 8-2 victory at #1
doubles. For the season, Tabb is 10-2 in all matches and 2-1
at #1 singles in dual matches. She is 2-0 in conference
play. She is also 2-0 in league play from the #1 doubles
partnership.

Leslie Hainley, R-MC | Hainley won both her matches in the No. 4 singles position as R-MC split this week in ODAC action. Hainley helped R-MC to a 6-3 over Lynchburg and won her singles match in a 5-4 loss to Sweet Briar. |
