BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CHRIS COLQUHOUN, LYNCHBURG COLLEGE
Colquhoun, a sophomore from Virginia Beach, Virginia, hit .563 (9-16) on the week for a 2-1 LC squad. Colquhoun had at least two hits in each game last week, highlighted by a four-hit, four RBI performance over perennially strong Tufts (MA) University. Colquhoun is now hitting .457 on the season, leading the Hornets team with nine doubles, 24 RBI and 53 total bases. He has collected a hit in all but one game this season, leads LC with 11 multi-hit games, and also is error-free in 106 chances at catcher and first base this campaign.

BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
RYAN MILLER, EASTERN MENNONITE
Miller, a freshman from Vesuvius, Virginia, shut down the PSU-Harrisburg over five innings, scattering seven hits, while striking out four. He picked up his first collegiate win in the process, allowing only one earned run. 

Baseball Honor Roll
Aaron Read, BC Read finished 6-for-11 in three games during the Eagles spring break trip to California. Read was 2-for-3 with two runs scored against nationally-ranked Chapman. He finished the trip with a 3-for-5 effort in a 10-9 loss at Whittier
Chris Harpine, EMU Harpine blasted two home runs against Penn State Harrisburg in the Royals only game of the week.  EMU was scheduled to play a double header against Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday that has now been pushed back to Tuesday, March 17.  Harpine leads the ODAC in home runs and RBI and finished the PSU Harrisburg game going 3-for-6 with three runs scored and four RBI.  He leads the team in those categories and ranks third on the squad in batting average (.317).
Kyle Wooden, GC Went 4-6 in the Quakers' 0-1-1 week... went 2-2 with his team-leading fifth home run of the season in a Mar. 10 loss at Averett... drove in two runners in the game... went 2-4 with two RBI in a 12-12 tie with Haverford for his team-leading ninth multiple-RBI game of the season... extended his hitting streak to 10 games with his ninth multiple-hit game of the season.
Michael Blocher, GC Preserved Guilford's 12-12 tie with Haverford by throwing a scoreless ninth and 10th inning while the Quakers rallied to tie the game... fanned one and allowed just one hit.
Robbie Garrett, LC Tossed in one game last week in relief, going three innings of scoreless relief against Penn State-Harrisburg. He allowed only one hit while fanning four Nittany Lion hitters, also holding the opposition to a .100 batting average against. For the year, Garrett has a 1.35 earned run average, allowing only four hits in six and two-thirds innings of work.

GOLFER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PETER LATIMER, GUILFORD COLLEGE
Latimer, a junior from Markinch Fife, Scotland, paced the Quakers at the Minnesota State Spring Invitational with a 79-72-151 that placed eighth among 32 competitors, his third top-10 finish of the season.  He had the fifth-lowest score of the second round, and lowered his overall stroke average to a team-best 75.19 in 16 rounds.


MEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CHRIS ASHCRAFT, GUILFORD COLLEGE
Ashcraft, a freshman from Mount Airy, Maryland, paced Guilford in a 2-0 week with five goals and two assists.  He had a goal and an assist, plus two ground balls, in the Quakers' 11-10 win over Shenandoah.  He hit for a game-high four goals and an assist in Guilford's 10-7 win over Sewanee Mar. 12.  He also had four ground balls in the game.  Ashcraft scored twice and had an assist in the decisive fourth quarter, which started with the score tied at 5-5. 

Men's LacrosseHonor Roll
Kevin Patton, R-MC Patton led the Yellow Jackets to their third straight win of the season, tallying eight points as R-MC (3-0) defeated Hood 19-3 on Wednesday. Patton currently leads R-MC in assists (10) and points (15).
Matt Quinton, RC Scored five goals and added an assist in a 14-13 come-from-behind victory at Dickinson last Saturday.  His fourth quarter goal sparked the Maroons' final push where they scored the final three goals of the game.  He had nine shots, eight on goal.
Tyler Smith, W&L Smith helped lead the Generals to a 2-0 week by leading a defense that allowed just 13 goals over the two games.  He posted four ground balls and forced three turnovers in a 14-7 win over the Merchant Marines on Wednesday, then notched five ground balls and forced two turnovers in a 7-6 win over Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.  For the season, Smith has picked up 22 ground balls and has a team-best 13 caused turnovers.  As a team, W&L is allowing an average of just 5.17 goals per game this spring.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MORGAN HUTCHINSON, RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE
Hutchinson, a senior from Richmond, Virginia, helped R-MC to a 1-0 week with eight goals in an 18-17 double overtime victory over Gordon College from Massachusetts.  She took 11 shots on the day, putting 10 on target.  She went 2-for-4 in free position opportunities, and collected six draw controls.  Hutchinson also caused a pair of Gordon turnovers. 

Women's LacrosseHonor Roll
Carrie Ernst, GC : Led Guilford to a 14-10 win over Marymount with a career-high five goals... also had a ground ball and two caused turnovers.... did not play in the Quakers' loss to Catholic due to injury.
Patty Sheehan, LC Sheehan netted six goals with one assist last week to lead LC to a 1-1 record in non-conference action. She paced LC with three goals and an assist in an 11-8 loss to Kenyon College in Orlando, FL on Wednesday, and boasted another hat trick Saturday in a 12-6 win over Frostburg State. Sheahan added five ground balls on the week with four draw controls and a forced turnover.

SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LAUREN CHILDRESS, BRIDGEWATER COLLEGE
Childress, a sophomore from Franklin, Virginia, hit for a .440 average during the Eagles' eight games on their spring break trip, all victories. She hit safely in seven of the eight games and drove in nine runs in the eight games. In a 6-0 victory over NC Wesleyan, Childress was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. She was 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a 6-1 victory over Methodist and 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a 6-5 victory over Peace.

SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
BECKY SCHMIDT, BRIDGEWATER COLLEGE
Schmidt, a sophomore from Woodbine, Maryland, finished with a 3-0 record on BC's spring break trip, picking up wins over Wilmington College, Methodist and Peace College. Schmidt hurled a complete-game 3-hitter in a 6-0 victory over Wilmington. She allowed just three hits and struck out eight. Against Methodist, she pitched another complete game, allowing one run on five hits. She came on in relief against Peace and pitched five scoreless innings, allowing just four hits. In 19 innings, Schmidt allowed just 12 hits and walked just one batter. 

Softball Honor Roll
Kelly Guarnieri, GC Led the Quakers in a 6-0 week by hitting .471 with two triples and five RBI... also stole two bases and scored eight runs... hit safely in the last five games... tripled twice in a win over Cedar Crest... knocked in two runners in game two versus Thomas.
Jessica Burcham, GC Tossed a pair of shutouts in Guilford's 6-0 week... threw a five-hit whitewash with eight strikeouts in a 7-0 win over Swarthmore... fanned 10 in a five-inning, two-hit win over Thomas.
Brittany Allsop, LC Allsop batted .528 this week, recording seven hits in 13 at bats. She scored four times, drove in three batters, and had two doubles along with tallying two stolen bases.
Barbie Miles, LC Miles went 1-0 in the circle for the Hornets in two appearances, recording a 1.85 ERA and throwing one complete game. She allowed just three earned runs and struck out 13 batters in 11.1 innings pitched.
Lindsay Cross, RAND Cross led the WildCats offensively with five hits and five RBI over a 3-1 week. She added one double and one homerun.
Teresa Dalton, RAND Dalton went 1-1 from the circle for the WildCats during a 3-1 week. She went seven innings allowing two earned runs in a 4-3 win against Mary Baldwin College. Dalton recorded a school record 11 strikeouts in the win against Mary Baldwin.
Laura Bauer, R-MC Bauer went a combined 6-for-11 this week as the Yellow Jackets went 3-1. Bauer hit 2-for-3 twice and registered three doubles, seven runs batted in, and a home run.
Courtney Brooks, R-MC Brooks did not allow a run in 14 innings of work this week. After pitching a scoreless inning against Stevenson, Brooks pitched back-to-back complete-game shutouts in Wednesday's doubleheader against Sweet Briar. She struck out 12 batters in Game 1 and five batters in Game 2.
Jackie Jarzynka, VWC Jarzynka recorded three hits for the Marlins at the Salisbury University Invitational and all three were home runs.  She hit two homers, including a grand slam, in a 9-0 victory over Kean University.  Jarzynka drove in seven runs in the Kean game and two more in a 5-1 win over King's College.  VWC posted a 4-2 week.
Brittany Brown, VWC Brown helped lead the Marlins to a 4-2 week, highlighted by a 9-0 win over Kean University and a 5-1 victory over King's College. She added 14 more strikeouts to her season total, including six against Kean.  She allowed only seven earned runs in a 3-1 showing from the circle.

MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CHIP WINTRINGHAM, EMORY & HENRY COLLEGE
Wintringham, a freshman from Burlington, North Carolina, went 7-1 on the week at #2 singles and #2 doubles. He was undefeated 4-0 in singles matches including a victory over Div. II Tiffin and a victory over NAIA Marian, IN. For the Season Wintringham is 7-2 with his two losses coming to W&L and Concord (Div. II). In Doubles for the season he is 7-3. 

Men's Tennis Honor Roll
Josh Lee, R-MC Lee won both singles matches, winning all four sets while yielding just 5 games against Virginia Union and Ferrum this week. He also won both doubles matches, 8-6 and 8-4.
Jonathan Gaffney, W&L Gaffney helped lead the Generals to a 1-1 week by going 2-0 at No. 5 singles and 0-2 at No. 1 doubles. For the season, Gaffney is 9-7 in singles and 5-7 in doubles.

WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WINDSOR TYLER, RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE
Tyler, a junior from Richmond, Virginia, won her matches at #1 singles and #1 doubles in R-MC's only match of the Week against Ferrum on Wednesday.  She won 6-3, 6-2 in singles action while teaming up for an 8-2 victory in doubles play. 

Women's Tennis Honor Roll
Meg Spalitta, W&L Teamed with Ellen Yeatman to earn W&L's only doubles win (8-3) and provided the final singles win (6-0, 3-6, 6-0) in No. 2 W&L's 5-4 win over No. 9 Mary Washington on Saturday. Now stands at 7-1 in singles play this year and 5-1 in doubles play.
