Grant, a sophomore from Sewanee, Georgia, placed first among NCAA Division III athletes at the Liberty Open with a school-record 4,020 points in the heptathlon.  He ran 7.54 seconds in the 60-meter dash, 9.36 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles and 2:25.69 in the 1000-meter run.  He had leaps of 5.72 meters and 1.71 meters in the long and high jumps, respectively, and cleared 2.95 meters in the pole vault.  He also threw the shot 10.18 meters.
