Lott, a freshman from Virginia Beach, Va., turned in an excellent effort in the 55-meter dash at the Mason-Dixon Conference championships at Christopher Newport University.  He broke VWC’s record in the event three times in the meet en route to finishing as the Mason-Dixon champion in the event.  He started it in the prelims with a time of 6.60, breaking the previous VWC record of 6.86 set by Josh Smith in 2006.  He broke his own record in the semifinals with a time of 6.55 and then topped that in the finals with a championship time of 6.51. He also placed 11th in the 200-meter dash (23.67).

Michael Allen, Eastern Mennonite University, Junior
Allen focused on the triple jump Saturday at the DuCharme Invitational and won the event.  His distance of 13.27m (43-06.50 feet) bested teammate Nathanial Freed by nearly an entire meter (12.29m).  Allen prepares to defend his 2010 ODAC indoor titles in the triple and long jumps at this weekend's conference championships.  He has the top marks in the ODAC in both events this season.
