Greg Wilson, Lynchburg, Sophomore, Throws

Wilson, a sophomore from Sagamore Beach, Mass., put together a solid week thru a pair of meets.  At the LC Sprints, Jumps and Throws Challenge on Wednesday, Wilson threw the shot put 15.30 meters (50' 2"), the second longest at the event.  The mark was good for second all-time in the Lynchburg record books, and puts him currently 19th in the nation. He also was fifth in the weight throw with a heave of 13.43 meters (44' 0.75").  At the Marietta Open, Wilson helped LC win the eight-team event. He won the shot put with a toss of 14.89 meters (48' 10.25") and was second in the weight throw with a mark of 13.96 meters (45' 9.75").

Men's Indoor Track Honor Roll

Eugene Cummings, Bridgewater, Senior, Jumps
Cummings won the long jump and placed second in the triple jump Sunday at the Orange & Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna University. Cummings won the long jump with an effort of 20 feet, 11.25 inches. He placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 43 feet, 3.25 inches.

Hilton Morgan, Eastern Mennonite, Freshman, Throws
In his first collegiate meet, Morgan took over second place on EMU’s all-time shot put list.  Morgan took third place at the Captains Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport over the weekend, and was the top D-III finisher, when he unleashed a heave of 14.32m (46' 11.75") in the shot put.

Josiah Renton, Shenandoah, Senior, Mid-Distance
At the Captains' Invitational, Renton set a new SU record in the mile run with a time of 4:25.94 (previous record 4:27.60).  It's also the top mark in the ODAC so far this season.  Renton won his heat of the race and finished sixth overall, first amongst NCAA Division III competition.
