Carmen Graves, Roanoke, Senior

Graves, a senior from Christiansburg, Va., picked up right where she left off last season, although her success came in a new event at the Liberty Kickoff this weekend.  In her first ever start in the 3000-meter run, Graves won the event with a time of 10:15.98, finishing better than 30 seconds faster than the second-place runner.  Her time was also just off the school record held by previous national champion, Casey Smith.

Women's Indoor Track Honor Roll

Kristen Trice, Bridgewater - (Fr., Glen Allen, Va.)
Trice put together a good showing in her first collegiate outing at the Liberty Kickoff.  She placed sixth in the triple jump (36' 4.25") and eighth in the high jump (4' 10.25").

Hannah Chappell-Dick, Eastern Mennonite - (Fr., Bluffton, Ohio)
Chappell-Dick had a very successful start to her track career, breaking EMU's school record in the one mile. Her indoor time of 5:25.09 broke the existing record by five seconds, and also garnered her third place at the Liberty Kickoff. Chappell-Dick was the top D-III runner in the event. She was also a part of EMU's 4x400m relay team, which clocked the second-fastest time in EMU history. The foursome crossed in 4:22.78.

Jennifer Thomas, Guilford - (Fr., - Randleman, N.C.)
Thomas ran 8.80 seconds in the 60-meter dash to set the Quakers' school record in her first college competition... had the top time by an NCAA Division III contestant as the Quakers were the lone D3 team at the meet.

Britney Gulick, Lynchburg - (Jr., Budd Lake, N.J.)
Gulick toss the weight 45' 2.5" at the Liberty Kickoff this weekend. Only Division I athletes finished with further throws.

Jillian Katterhagen, Washington and Lee - (So, The Woodlands, Texas)
Katterhagen was the top D-III competitor in both the 60-meter hurdles and the pole vault. She finished 13th overall in the hurdles at 10.01 and ninth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.30m.
