Wilson, a senior from Sagamore Beach, Mass., started off the indoor season as the top NCAA Division III competitor in both throw events in which he competed at the Liberty Kickoff, leading the ODAC in both apparatuses. He placed second overall in the shot put with a toss of 15.02 meters (49' 3.50"). He went on to place third overall in the weight throw with a heave of 16.09 meters (52' 9.50"). His throws bettered all other ODAC competitors by at least five feet in both events over the weekend.
Men's Indoor Track Weekly Honor Roll
Luke Sohl, Bridgewater (Jr., Distance - Burke,
Va.)
Sohl won the 5,000-meter run at the Liberty Kickoff, besting a
field of NCAA Division III runners with a time of 14:59.07.
He was the lone runner to crack 15-minutes in the event.
Jordan King, Eastern Mennonite (Sr.,
Jumps - Dalton, Ohio)
King finished second overall and first among NCAA Division III
competitors in the high jump at the Liberty Kickoff. He
cleared 1.99 meters (6' 6.25"), surpassing his previous career-best
of 1.97 meters.
Chard Norton, Guilford (Sr., Distance - Walled Lake,
Mich.)
Norton split his time between the Liberty Kickoff at
the JDL College Kickoff last week. At Liberty, he finished
second in the 5,000-meter run with at ime of 15:01.29. He
competed in the 4x400-meter relay at JDL, helping the Quakers to
12th in 3:39.86.
Andrew Bernstein, Roanoke (Sr.,
Mid-Distance - Germantown, Tenn.)
Bernstein placed sixth in the 1000-meter run at the JDL College
Kickoff with a time of 2:36.78.
Randy Lott, Virginia Wesleyan (Sr., Sprints - Virginia
Beach, Va.)
Lott opened his season at the CNU Holiday Open,
competing in three events. He placed 17th overall in the
60-meter dash, posting the ODAC's top time of 7.06-seconds.
He placed 10th in the 200-meter dash, second in the ODAC at
23.30-seconds. He and his teammates came in 13th in the
4x400-meter relay in 3:33.88, tops in the ODAC thru the
weekend.
