Alfaro, a junior from Toms River, N.J., put together a pair of impressive performances in the throws at the Vince Brown Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport University. Alfaro won the shot put with a throw of 12.84 meters (42' 1.5"), the second-best throw in the ODAC this season only her own previous-best toss. She placed second overall and first among NCAA Division III competitors in the weight throw, heaving the apparatus 16.18 meters (53' 1.0"). She was second to a Division I competitor from Hampton University. Alfaros toss of 16.18 meters is 19th-best in NCAA Division III.

Amber Celen, Bridgewater (Fr.,
Sprints/Jumps - Townsend, Del.)
Celen won the 55m (7.56) and 200m (27.37) dashes at the DuCharme
Invitational. She also topped the field in the long jump
(5.28m; 17' 4.0").
Hannah Chappell-Dick, Eastern Mennonite (Jr.,
Mid-Distance - Bluffton, Ohio)
Chappell-Dick won the 1,000m (3:00.42) and 400m
(1:01.49) at the DuCharme Invitational. He run in the 1,000m
set a new facility record.
Molly Anne Marcotte, Guilford (So., Distance - Raleigh,
N.C.)
Marcotte finished 12th in the 5,000m at the Vince
Brown Invitational in 20:21.58, the 3rd fastest mark in Guilford
history.
Alexis Janney, Roanoke (Jr., Sprints - Daleville,
Va.)
Janney put together top-4 ODAC performances in all
three sprints at the Vince Brown Invitational. She was eighth
overall in the 400m in 59.87, second-best in the ODAC. She
was 10th in the 200m in 26.46, tops in the conference, and 15th in
the 60m in 8.09, fourth in the ODAC.
Marissa Coombs, Virginia Wesleyan (Fr., Mid-Distance -
Newton, N.J.)
Coombs set a VWC record in the mile run with a time
of 5:17.29 at the Vince Brown Invitational. The time ranks
third in the ODAC this season. She also ran the third leg of
VWC's third-place 4x400m relay team that stopped the watches in
4:12.36.
