Council, a senior from Stafford, Va., got his 2017 campaign started on the right foot with a trio of top-eight showings including an event victory at the CNU Quadrangular. Council won the triple jump with an early ODAC-best mark of 13.90 meters (45' 7.25"). That ranks 15 in NCAA Division III. He also finished second in the shotput at 13.59 meters (44' 7.0"), which sits second in the ODAC. Council added an eighth place showing in the weight throw at 10.77 meters (35' 4.0").

Sims won the pole vault competition at the Art & Linda Maillet Open, clearing 4.60 meters (14' 5.25"). He is the only ODAC competitor to clear four meters so far this season.
