Marissa Coombs, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., Mid-Distance

Coombs, a junior from Newton, N.J., put together a trio of performances at the Vince Brown Invitational that each rank either first or second in the ODAC this season. Coombs' highlight showing was in the mile run in which she won the event with an ODAC-best time of 4:57.74. That time is less than three seconds off the ODAC record pace and currently ranks third in NCAA Division III. Coombs also stood out in the 800-meter run, placing third overall and second among collegiate competitors with a time of 2:20.23. That mark is second in the conference and 47th in the country. Coombs final contribution came in the 4x400-meter relay. She helped her teammates finish fourth with an ODAC season-best time of 4:15.47.

Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Hannah Nichols, Eastern Mennonite (Fr.)
Nichols set personal-records in both the 800m and mile runs at the Camel City Invitational. She was 14th in the mile with a time of 5:16.32, and 19th in the 800m in 2:20.27. Her 800m time is third in the ODAC while her mile time sits fifth.

A'lexus Newkirk, Guilford (Jr.)
Newkirk ran the fourth-fastest times in school history in the 600m and 200m dashes at the Vince Brown Invitational, posting times of 0:08.80 and 0:29.92, respectively.

Natalie Deacon, Lynchburg (Sr.)
Deacon broke a Lynchburg record for the second straight week, this time in the mile run at the Vince Brown Invitational. She finished second overall with a time of 5:04.88, which is good for second in the ODAC and 15th in NCAA Division III.
