Kindig, a graduate student from Spotsylvania, Va., crushed the ODAC and Shenandoah school records in the weight throw over the weekend at the VMI Team Challenge in Lexington, Va. Kindig won the event with an eye-opening heave of 19.27 meters (63-2.75), a full four meters (13-1.50) further than second place finisher Andrew Granger from VMI. Kindig's mark is 1.36 meters (4-5.50) further than the throw of Michael Lotts from Bridgewater (17.91m - 58-9.25) in 2020, the previous ODAC benchmark. His former school record was 15.96 meters from February 2021. Kindig's new throw is currently second in NCAA Division III and would have gone down as the fourth-best throw in the country in 2021-22.
