Alijah Johnson, Eastern Mennonite, Sr., Sprints

Johnson, a senior from Upper Marlboro, Md., post three impressive times in sprinting events to kickoff his season at the Bast-Cregger Invitational. In a non-championship event (i.e. not competed at ODAC or NCAA championships), Johnson won the 300-meter dash in 35.09 seconds. According to records published on TFRRS.org, that time is the seventh-fastest in NCAA Division III history. Johnson also competed in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. In the 200-dash -- in which he placed 17th at the Division III Championships last March -- Johnson finished 5th overall and first among D-III competitors with a time of 22.56 seconds. That ranks second in the ODAC so far this season. His converted time of 22.17 seconds for track size and/or banking slots him 15th in the country. In the 60-meter dash, Johnson posted a time of 7.08 seconds in the prelims and 7.12 seconds in the semifinals. His 7.08 time is just outside the ODAC's top-five.
