Aniya Seward, Lynchburg, Jr., Jumps/Hurdles

Seward, a junior from Ebony, Va., earns her second ODAC weekly honor of the season following two strong showings at the Steemer Showcase hosted by Wittenberg University (Ohio). Seward won the triple jump with a leap of 11.71 meters (38-5.00), nearly a half-foot better than her nearest competitor. That mark reset her own Lynchburg program record set last season and currently ranks eighth in Division III. Seward also competed in her other specialty, the 60-meter hurdles. She posted the top qualifying time at 8.83 seconds in the prelims, and then won the finals of the event at 9.10 seconds. She is already #1 in the ODAC and sixth nationally in the event with a previous season-best time of 8.77 seconds.
