59...Coming off its first
loss of the season, Virginia Wesleyan used a 21-4 first-half run to
sprint to a 45-25 halftime lead as the Marlins downed Bridgewater
to return to the win column...Donald Vaughn led the Marlins with 18
points to go with nine rebounds...Tre' Ford handed out six assists
to four Marlins in double figures...Chris Teasley added 16
points...For BC, Kyle Hammond led the way with 14 points on 6-of-10
shooting.
THURSDAY (1/27/11 - 4 games)
--- W&L 73, E&H
61...Washington and Lee shot 57.7% from the floor in
topping E&H...the game was tied 25-all with 5:22 left in the
first half, but W&L enjoyed runs of 10-0 (1st half) and 14-2
(second half) to create separation from the visiting Wasps...Jon
Guess led three Generals in double figures with 15 points and five
boards...Jason Cimino (14) and Taylor Gilfillan (12) added to the
scoring punch...Michael Owens led a trio of Wasps in double digits
with 12 points on 3-of-4 3-point shooting...Terrance Grigg (11) and
Malcolm Green (10) aided in the scoring effort.
R-MC 90, RC 53...Brandon Braxton
led four Yellow Jackets in double figures with 17 points to propel
#9 R-MC past Roanoke and extend its winning streak to 13
games...the Yellow Jackets shot better than 50% from the field in
both halves, finishing 28-of-54 overall...Adam Desgain hit 3-of-4
3-pointers on the way to 16 points...Calvin Croskey (13) and Danny
Jones (11) also notched double figures for R-MC...Corey Poindexter
(12) and Logan Singleton (11) led the Maroons in scoring.
RAND 55, GC 50...Randolph erased a
13-point second half deficit to post its first win over Guilford in
five tries...GC shot well (47.5%), but turnovers hurt the Quakers
throughout (21-to-12)...Malcolm Nelson scored nine of his 11 points
in the second half to help rally the WildCats...Colton Hunt led
RAND with 14 points...Josh Pittman topped GC's scoring with 16
markers including a 7-of-7 showing from the stripe.
LC 76, H-SC 74... Lynchburg
enjoyed a 39-26 halftime lead, but saw H-SC take a 71-70 lead with
two minutes to play...a lay-up by Austin Chillemi (14 pts) and four
makes from the foul line by Brandan Connor (9 pts) helped the
Hornets hold on for its second win in a row...Nate Campbell led LC
with 21 points and six boards...Tucker Lucas added 14 points as LC
shot 52% for the game...H-SC, which connected on 51% of its field
goals, was led by 21 points from Harrison George...Randall Ward
(16) and Ru White (12) added to the scoring effort.
SATURDAY (1/29/11 - 5 games)

63...Emory & Henry picked up its first ODAC in of
the season in 11 tries with a hot-shooting effort against
Bridgewater...the Wasps shot 50% from the field (27-of-54) and from
beyond the arc (8-of-16)...Terrance Grigg led all scorers with 25
points on 9-of-17 shooting...Josh Cunningham added 12 points...Rick
Maloney led BC with 14 points and 11 boards for his ODAC-best
seventh double-double of the season...Cody Griffith (11) and Kyle
Hammond (10) added to the Eagles' offense. VWC
89, W&L 78...#7 VWC used a late 12-4 run to top
Washington and Lee for its second straight win...Point guard Tre'
Ford led all scorers and four Marlins in double figures with a
career-high 22 points on 6-of-10 shooting including 4-of-6 from
deep...he made 6-of-6 from the foul line...D.J. Woodmore (18),
Donald Vaughn (13) and Chris Teasley (12) also scored in double
figures as VWC shot 14-of-24 (58.3%) from the field in the second
half...Jeremy Adkins (15), John Rice (11) and Jon Guest (11) led
W&L in scoring...J.D. Ey snared a game-high 10 boards.
EMU 116, RC 89...EMU shot 52% from
the field and hit 13-of-28 in defeating Roanoke...the Royals forced
12 second half turnovers and came away with 17 offensive boards in
pulling away in the final 20 minutes...Todd Phillips, the ODAC's
second-leading scorer at 18.6 ppg, led all scorers with 30 points
to go with eight boards...Eli Crawford made 10-of-11 from the line
on the way to 22 points...Marlon Organ (14) and George Johnson (10)
added to the EMU offense...Matt Crizer led the Maroons with 24 on
9-of-14 shooting...Melvin Felix added 23 points, improving his
scoring mark to 17.1 ppg and fourth in the ODAC...Logan Singleton
notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards.
H-SC 71, RAND 61...Colin O'Neill
went 8-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 from the line to finish with
21 points to lead H-SC to a victory over Randolph...the Tigers shot
51.1% as a team...Harrison George added 16 points and a game-high
eight rebounds...Colton Hunt kept the WildCats' offense chugging
with 19 points to go with six boards...Derrick Woods-Morrow added
10 markers. GC 62, R-MC
61...Gabriel Lowders' jumper with 15 seconds put GC
on top for good and gave the Quakers their second win over a top-10
nationally ranked team...Josh Pittman led all scorers with 30
points on 10-of-15 shooting...he made 5-of-8 3-pointers...Lowder
finished with 11 points...Tobi Akinsola collected his third
double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds...Brandon Braxton
continued his hot hand of late with 19 points to lead R-MC...Lamar
Giggetts and Adam Desgain each chipped in 10 markers.
SUNDAY (1/30/11 - 1 game)
--- LC 79, Johns &
Wales 39...Lynchburg handed JWU its 20th loss in as
many games this season...Nate Campbell notched his second straight
20-plus point game with 22 tallies on 10-of-12 shooting from the
field...Gary Boone added 12 points on a 5-for-7 night.
