McCarthy, a senior from Rockville, Md., picks up his second straight weekly award after leading the Quakers to two more ODAC victories to extend their current winning streak to six games. In a 91-88 double-overtime victory at Emory & Henry, McCarthy scored a career-high and ODAC season-best 44 points, which marks the most scored by an ODAC player since 2008 and the fifth highest total in NCAA Division III this season. McCarthy scored 13 of the Quakers 21 points in the overtime periods, including 10 in the second extra frame to secure the win. He finished 16-of-29 from the field, nailing seven three-pointers along the way. He was 5-of-5 from the foul line, adding three rebounds, three assists and a steal. I na 64-48 win over Eastern Mennonite, McCarthy drilled five more three-pointers on the way to 15 points. He added an a rebound an an assist. For the week, he was 12-of-25 from downtown, shooting 52.5-percent (21-of-40) overall. McCarthy is currently fourth in the ODAC in scoring (16.5 ppg) and overall points scored (313). He leads the ODAC in three-pointers made (66), is third in free throw shooting (51-of-62; 82.3%) and fourth in steals (37).

Bridgewater split its two home games by three
points each, falling to Randolph-Macon (58-55) before topping
Washington and Lee (72-69). Ed Reddick notched is eighth
double-double against R-MC, posting 15 points and 13 rebounds. Kyle
Welty led with 16 points off the bench, adding five boards and five
steals. Zach Hunter scored 10 points. Both Reddick and Welty poured
in 25 points against W&L, combining to go 18-for-28 from the
field. Reddick added eight boards, three assists and three steals
… Eastern Mennonite went 1-1, posting a win
over Shenandoah (71-53) before falling at Guilford (64-48). David
Falk collected his ODAC-best 11th double-double with 16 points and
15 rebounds with three blocked shots against SU. Marcel Crump led
with 17 points, while Ryan Yates put up 13 ponits, six boards and
four assists. EMU was held to just 35.2% shooting at GC. James
Williams led with 10 points, while David Falk at nine points and
five rebounds … Emory & Henry fell
to Guilford (91-88) in double-overtime in its only back of the week
due to a postponement with H-SC of its second contest. E&H shot
53.1% for the game, led by a 9-of-16 showing from John Shelor. He
finished with 23 points, six rebounds and three steals. Myles
turner had 15 points and seven assists. Kevin Anzenberger hit four
three-pointers n the way to 13 points, while Josh Hess also
connected on four from deep towards 12 points off the bench ...
Guilford extended its winning streak to
six-straight with wins at E&H (91-88) in double-overtime and
over Eastern Mennonite (64-48). Matt McCarthy posted an ODAC
season-high 44 points at E&H, marking the most scored by an
ODAC player since 2008. He sent the game into the first overtime
with two free throws, and scored 10 of Guilford's 14 points in
double-overtime to secure the win. He finished 16-of-29 from the
field, hitting seven three-pointers, adding three assists. Jonny
Rice had 28 points and seven rebounds. Against EMU, Rice notched 19
points and nine rebounds, while Zachary Houston also pulled down
nine boards. McCarthy hit for 15 points, nailing 5-of-9 from deep
to give him 12 made three-pointers on the week
... Hampden-Sydney fell at Washington
and Lee (77-67) in its only game of the week, with the other
against E&H postponed. Jake Duncan hit 5-of-6 from deep and
10-of-12 overall from the field twoards a game-best 26 points. Leon
Hargrove added 11 ponits and two steals, while Mike Murray hit for
12 points and five boards off the bench …
Lynchburg won at Roanoke (103-101) in
double-overtime before falling to Randolph-Macon (72-68). Austen
Arnold poured in a career-best 33 points against RC, hitting the
tying free throw to send in the game into double-overtime and then
scoring eight of LC's 11 points in the second extra frame. He
drilled five three-pointers. Omar Kemp put up the tying point at
the end of regulation with a free throw. Zack Burnett posted 27
points and nine rebounds, while Alex Graves added 12 points and
nine boards. Danile Rowe chipped in 11 points. Against R-MC, Graves
notched 22 points with 11 rebounds and six blocked shots. It marked
his fifth double-double of the season. Burnett added 19 points and
six rebounds, while Rowe added 10 points ...
Randolphfell to Virginia
Wesleyan (82-74) before snapping its three-game skid with a win
over Shenandoah (76-56). Zach Desgain dropped in 19 points off the
bench to lead against VWC. Gordon Rogo notched 16 points and six
rebounds, while Reid Jacoby added 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
Ryan Fields chippped in 10 points off the bench. Rogo and Jason
Eddie each scored 16 points against SU, notching five and six
rebounds, respectively. Desgain registered 10 points, eight
rebounds and three assists, while Fields added 10 points. Corey
Brown went for eight points, five boards and a game-best seven
assists … Randolph-Macon pushed its winning
streak to 14-straight with tight wins at Bridgewater (58-55) and at
Lynchburg (72-68). Chris Hamilton closed the win at BC with R-MC's
final seven points to secure the win. He finished with 10 points
overall. Joe Hassell also scored 10 points, adding seven rebounds.
Marcus Badger led with 16 points to go with three assists. Badger
again led with 16 points against LC, adding six assists and four
steals. Hassell and Hamilton added 11 points each, with Hassell
chipping in seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Akeem Holmes had
12 points and two blocks off the bench
... Roanoke lost games to Lynchburg
(103-101) in double-overtime and at Virginia Wesleyan (84-66) last
week. Daniel Eacho posted a career-high 37 points with 10 rebounds
for his third double-double against LC. He was 14-of-24 from the
field and 9-of-11 from the line. Andrew Daniels hit 5-of-8 from
deep towards 21 points with five boards and four assists. Julian
Ramirez added 13 points, seven boards and eight assists. Seth
Bradley added 14 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Daniels
led with 15 points and three steals at VWC. Cameron Smith his third
double-double with 11 points and 11 boards, while Eacho scored 12
points. Ramirez notched nine points and five assists …
Shenandoah dropped road games at Eastern
Mennonite (71-53) and Randolph (76-56) last week. Malcolm Clark led
with 18 points and six boards against EMU. Nik Stewart added 13
points, while Aaron Patterson chipped in 11 points and three
assists. Xavier Alston pulled down 12 boards to go with eight
points and three blocked shots. Patterson posted a team-best 12
points against VWC, hitting 4-of-7 from deep. Clark added seven
points and six boards ... Virginia Wesleyan
won for the 12th time in 14 games with victories at Randolph
(82-74) and over Roanoke (84-66). Khory Moore posted a game-best 29
points with six boards and three assists against RAND. Breven Lyons
added 21 poitns off the bench, hitting 7-of-10 from deep. Greg
Montgomery pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds with six points and
five assists. Against RC, Nick Doyle drilled 6-of-8 from deep on
the way to a game-high 24 points off the bench. Moore added 20
points and five rebounds, while Lyons scored 14 points with five
boards. Brandon Mitchell chipped in 10 points, and Kaelin Poe
grabbed a team-best nine boards … Washington and
Lee split its weekly outings for the fourth straight
week, defeating Hampden-Sydney (77-67) before falling at
Bridgewater (72-69). Clayton Murtha was a combined 23-of-25 from
the foul line for the week, including 15-of-16 towards 25 points
with seven boards against HSC. Andy Kleinlein added 17 points,
hitting 5-of-8 from deep. Andrew Franz registered 12 points, four
rebounds and five assists. Darren Douglas added 11 points off the
bench. Murtha led with 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists
against BC. Kleinlein added 14 points and four assists, while Joe
Sherwood went for nine points and 10 rebounds.
