Guilford Joined by Randolph-Macon in NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- For the first time since 2015, multiple squads will represent the ODAC in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament, as announced on www.ncaa.com on Monday afternoon. Guilford College and Randolph-Macon College enter the field of 64 and both will host first and second round action this coming weekend.

Like the Quakers, 43 schools won their conference tournaments, awarding them automatic qualification into the field. One was allotted to true independent teams (or those playing in conference's without an AQ) in "Pool B," while the remaining 20 spots went to at-large selections in "Pool C."

Guilford (21-7), positioned in the upper-right quadrant of the bracket, hosts one of 16 four-team pods. The Quakers will square off with Southern Athletic Association (SAA) champion Sewanee (22-6) in their opening game. The other first round contest features Wittenberg University (23-5) and Emory University (20-5). The Tigers secured the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) automatic bid, while the Eagles did the same out of the University Athletic Association (UAA).

Randolph-Macon (25-3), slotted in the lower-left quadrant of the bracket, earned one of the 20 at-large selections. The Yellow Jackets welcome Morrisville State College (23-4) for a first round tilt. The Mustangs won the North Eastern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NEAC) title. The other matchup in Ashland features York (Pa.) College (21-7) and DeSales University (21-6). The Spartans earned an at-large bid out of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC), while the Bulldogs won the Middle Athletic Conference - Freedom championship.

First and second round action is slated for Friday-Saturday, March 1-2, with sectionals for the 16 advancing teams on March 8-9. The semifinals and championship will be played be played in a new location with Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind., serving as the host venue on March 15-16.
