Schroeder, a junior from Blacksburg, Va., helped the Hornets to a 1-1 week in ODAC play by averaging 24.0 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 63.3-percent from the field and canning 10 three-pointers over the two contests. Schroeder opened with 17 points, three boards, an assist, and a blocked shot in a 100-74 setback to Roanoke. He was 7-of-9 from the field and buried all three of his long-distance efforts. The three-point ball was again on display in a 98-95 overtime victory at Shenandoah. He nailed 7-of-12 shots from downtown on the way to 31 points. He was 12-of-21 overall from the field. He added 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season, and chipped in three assists, three steals, and a blocked shot. For the season, Schroeder is averaging 15.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest. He is second in the ODAC in three-pointers made (58-of-138) and sixth in three-pointer percentage (.420).

Men's Basketball Weekly Notes

Bridgewater won twice last week with victories over Eastern Mennonite (68-66) and Hampden-Sydney (73-60). Dimetri Chambers posted a season-high 28 points on 9-of-19 from the floor including 4-of-6 from deep and a 6-for-6 showing at the line against EMU. He added three rebounds, two assists, and seven steals. He followed with 15 points on 8-of-9 from the line with five rebounds and four assists against H-SC.

Eastern Mennonite dropped a pair of games at Bridgewater (68-66) and at Randolph (79-71). Isaiah Harris-Winn became the 23rd player in EMU history to record 1,000 career points as he crossed the threshold with his final bucket at BC. He finished with 11 points to go with eight boards. He ticked upward with 20 points on 7-of-12 from the floor with six boards and a blocked shot.

Emory & Henry lost a pair of games to Guilford (79-64) and at Randolph-Macon (63-59), marking four straight setbacks. Chase Branscomb went for 18 points and eight boards against GC. He followed up with 10 points and 10 rebounds at R-MC for his ninth double-double of the season. He added two assists in the latter contest.

Guilford split a pair of games with a victory at Emory & Henry (79-64) and a loss to Virginia Wesleyan (67-58). Marcus Curry put up 23 points on 9-of-14 fro mthe field and 3-of-6 from deep with six rebounds at E&H. He followed with 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting wight eight boards and three assists.

Hampden-Sydney went 1-1 last week with a win over Randolph (84-77) and a loss at Bridgewater (73-60). Malik Crute came off the bench for 21 points on 7-of-8 fro mthe field and 5-of-6 from the line against Randolph. He added five boards, three assists, two steals, and two blocked shots. He then posted 19 points with three boards, four assists, and three blocked shots at BC.

Randolph lost at Hampden-Sydney (84-77) before recovering for a win over Eastern Mennonite (79-71). Sammy Hooper went for 23 points on 9-of-18 from the field including 5-of-11 from downtown at H-SC. He added three rebounds and five assists. He followed up with 21 points on 7-of-14 from the floor including three more made three-pointers and 4-of-4 at the line. He chipped in four boards and a blocked shot.

Randolph-Macon went 1-1 with a loss at Virginia Wesleyan (56-54) and a victory over Emory & Henry (63-59) last week. Montese Adams went for nine points and 10 rebounds at VWU. He followed with 13 oints, six rebounds, and a steal versus E&H. He was 6-of-8 from the field.

Roanoke's hot streak has now reached seven straight games following wins at Lynchburg (100-74) and over Washington and Lee (84-66). Josh Freund continues to rack up double-doubles, collecting his 10th with 17 points and 12 boards to go with three assists and a blocked shot at LC. He was 6-of-8 from the field and 5-of-5 from the stripe. He followed with 15 points and nine rebounds with four assists against W&L. He again was 5-of-5 from the line.

Shenandoah dropped a pair of games to Washington and Lee (83-78) and to Lynchburg (98-95) in overtime. Christopher Chaney came off the bench to pick up his sixth and seventh double-doubles of the season. He had 18 points with 10 boards, three assists, and two steals against W&L. He was 7-of-11 from the field and 4-of-4 from the line. He made 7-of-10 shots on the way to 19 points with 10 boards against LC.

Virginia Wesleyan picked up two wins over Randolph-Macon (56-54) and at Guilford (67-58). Lamont Steward posted seven points with four rebounds, a career-high five assists, two steals, and a blocked shot against R-MC. He followed with 19 points and 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the year at GC. He chipped in two steals and two blocked shots.

Washington and Lee split two games with a win at Shenandoah (83-78) and a loss at Roanoke (84-66). Clayton Murtha opened with 19 points and nine boards at SU. He upped his scoring to 24 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the floor at RC. He added six rebounds to his line.
