Mallory, a junior from Beltsville, Md., was named the MVP of the MMI Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Hood University as he helped the nationally top-ranked Yellow Jackets open the 2021-22 season with a pair of victories. Mallory started the year with 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field to go with nine rebounds in a 70-61 win over Carnegie Mellon University. He also registered four steals and a blocked shot. Mallory pulled down another nine boards to go with 16 points in an 84-63 triumph over the host Blazers. He was 8-of-11 from the field and chipped in two blocked shots and an assist.
