Lynchburg, Washington and Lee Selected to Host NCAA Men's Soccer Early Rounds

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- It's "deja vu" for ODAC men's soccer as Lynchburg College and Washington and Lee University will represent the conference in the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament for the second straight year. Additionally, both were selected to host four-team pods covering the first and second rounds.

The NCAA bracket is comprised of 62 teams set to compete on the national stage.  Forty-two schools won their conference tournaments, awarding them automatic qualification into the field. Just one berth went to a true independent in "Pool B," while the remaining 19 spots went to at-large selections in "Pool C."

Lynchburg (17-1-2), the ODAC automatic qualifier after winning the conference tournament for a second straight year, opened tournament play at home for the second time in as many seasons. The Hornets will meet Penn State University at Abington (15-6-0) in its opener, with Dickinson College (11-6-3) and Emory University (12-5-1) squaring off in the remaining first round game. The winners of those two outings will meet in the second round.

Washington and Lee (14-4-1) is on the same side of the bracket as Lynchburg, but is in the other semifinal quadrant. The Generals open with the University of Mary Washington (15-4-1) in the first round, while Oglethorpe University (16-2-1) will meet N.C. Wesleyan College (15-5-0) in the other pairing. The two winners will square off the next day in round two.

First and second round action is slated for November 10-12.  Those game will either be Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday formats.  The sectional rounds, which includes the quarterfinals, are set for November 17-19. The national semifinals and championship will be co-hosted by the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the Greensboro Sports Commissioner. The event, played in conjunction with the women's semifinals and championship, is slated for December 1-2 in at UNCG Soccer Stadium.

Match times and ticket information will be announced later this week.  For more information, use the links below or go to the websites of any of the participating schools.  You can also visit the ODAC at www.odaconline.com.  Don't forget to become a fan of the ODAC on Facebook and follow @odacathletics on Twitter.
