Drew Claytor, Roanoke, Senior, Midfielder

Claytor, a senior from Greensboro, N.C., helped lead Roanoke to a pair of ODAC victories on the road last week with a goal and an assist.  He opened his week with the only score in a 1-0 win at Guilford College, marking his second goal of the season.  He followed that with an assist on the tying goal in a game Roanoke would eventually win, 3-1, at Randolph-Macon College.  Claytor has five assists on the season, tied for the team-high and second in the ODAC.

Men's Soccer Honor Roll

Ryan Tavermaris, Bridgewater, Junior, Midfielder
Tavermaris scored the game-winning goal Saturday as the Eagles picked up a big conference victory over Hampden-Sydney. Tavernaris scored with just under 10 minutes left to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Eagles to a 3-2 victory.

Kevin Chico, Eastern Mennonite, Senior, Midfielder
Chico scored the only goal in Saturday’s Homecoming win over Virginia Wesleyan.  Chico’s blast from the top of the box with 2:43 left in the first half and gave Eastern Mennonite its first win over the Marlins since the 1998 ODAC Championship, breaking a 15-game losing skid to VWC.  After not scoring for EMU last year (after transferring from Longwood), Chico now has three goals this season, including two in ODAC play.

Peter Truitt, Guilford, Senior, Goalkeeper
Truitt recorded eight saves in Guilford’s 0-2 week… posted a 1.00 goals against average and .800 save percentage in two games… made three stops in Guilford’s 1-0 loss to Roanoke, including a save on a penalty kick… had five stops versus Washington and Lee in a 1-0 loss.

Luke Moore, Lynchburg, Freshman, Forward
Moore scored twice last week to push the Hornet men’s soccer team to a 1-1 record. He netted a goal Wednesday in a 2-1 loss at Hampden-Sydney and scored again Saturday in a 2-1 overtime victory against Emory & Henry.
