Leap, a senior from Harrisonburg, Va., picks up his third weekly award of the season.  Leap continued his scoring ways last week, providing the nail in the coffin in both of EMU’s wins over rival Bridgewater College.  In Sunday’s 2-0 ODAC Quarterfinal win, Leap put the game out of reach with a goal with just 5:04 remaining.  He knocked in a header off a corner kick in Tuesday’s 2-0 shutout at Bridgewater.  Leap now has 10 goals and 3 assists for 23 points, which is tied for second in the ODAC (third in goals scored).

Men's Soccer Honor Roll

Freddy Gomez, Guilford, Junior, Forward
Gomez scored the Quakers’ lone goal in Guilford’s 2-1 home loss to Randolph. The goal marked his team-leading 11th of the season, matching a career high. His 11 tallies rank 13th on the Quakers’ single-season list. He enters his senior campaign with 30 career goals, which stands fourth all-time at Guilford. His 71 career points also ranks fourth in school history.

Timmy Songer, Randolph, Senior, Midfielder
Songer notched three assists on the week to help Randolph to wins over Guilford and Randolph-Macon.  In Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Guilford, Songer set up the first goal with a through ball to Corey Sindle. The win helped clinch a home playoff game in the ODAC Tournament. In the ODAC Quarterfinals against Randolph-Macon, Songer picked up two more helpers including a perfect corner kick to Will Wolf for the game-winner 4:45 into overtime. Songer now has six assists on the season, which is second in the ODAC.
