
Fisher, a senior from Morehead City, N.C., notched a pair of game-winning goals to propel Roanoke to two wins against conference competition last week. In the regular season finale against Guilford, Fisher found the back of the net for the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over the Quakers. He repeated the effort in the Maroons quarterfinal against Eastern Mennonite, scoring in the 50th minute to give RC a 1-0 win and a date in the semifinals with fifth-seeded Washington and Lee. The goals were the first two for Fisher this season.
Men's Soccer Honor Roll
Juan Luna, Eastern Mennonite (So., Forward - Mount
Jackson, Va.)
Luna scored via a 60th minute free kick to give the Royals a
1-0 win over Bridgewater in the regular season finale and earn a
spot in the ODAC Tournament.
Robert Kerby, Hampden-Sydney (So., Forward -
Hampton, Va.)
Kerby scored three goals last week. He tallied
one of two scores for H-SC in a 2-2 tie to cap the regular season.
In the Tigers' quarterfinal against W&L, Kerby scored
both of H-SC's goals in a 2-2 draw that went to a penalty shootout.
W&L advanced on the PKs.
Josh Hinkle, Lynchburg (Sr., D - Palmyra, Va.)
Hinkle scored once and dished out an assist in the
Hornets 3-0 quarterfinal win over Randolph last week. LC also
defeated Randolph, 3-0, in the regular season finale.
Chris Cooke, Virginia Wesleyan (Sr., Forward -
Hampton, Va.)
Cooke scored a goal and had an assist in a 2-2 draw
at H-SC in the regular season finale. He then scored once and
dished out another helper in a 2-0 win over Bridgewater in the ODAC
quarterfinals.
Zach Colby, Washington and Lee (Sr., Forward - Prairie
Village, Kan.)
Colby scored the game-tying goal in a 2-2
quarterfinal draw at Hampden-Sydney. W&L would go on to
advance to the semifinals by winning the resulting shootout.
