Scott Signorelli, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr., Forward

Signorelli, a senior from Newport News, Va., helped the Marlins stay undefeated (4-0) in the early season as Virginia Wesleyan rattled off a pair of non-conference wins. Signorelli was on the scoresheet twice in a 3-1 victory over future ODAC member Averett. He opened the game's scoring in the 29th minute off a feed from Juan Tovar. He again beat the keeper midway thru the second half as he converted a pass from Nate Mitchell for a 3-0 advantage in the 65th minute. The story was a little different in the Marlins 2-1 victory over Greensboro. One goal by each side in regulation forced extra time. Signorelli twice evaded defenders with aerial balls with the latter finding the path of Alex Moody, who finished across goal with his left foot beyond a diving keeper in the 93rd minute. The five points this week marked the first for Signorelli on the season.
