W&L Men's Tennis Falls to Emory

ATLANTA, Ga. --- The 20th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team saw its season come to an end with a 5-0 loss to second-ranked Emory University in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles easily swept all three doubles matches for an overwhelming advantage heading into singles play.  Emory then notched wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles to close out the match and improve to 21-0 on the season.

The loss dropped the Generals to 16-5 overall.  Emory advances to the third round where it will meet either Whitman or North Carolina Wesleyan.

While W&L has finished with the team portion of the tournament, junior Hayden White  (Baltimore, Md./Towson) will continue play in the NCAA singles tournament held on May 24-26 in Cary, N.C.
