Nelson, a freshman from Galax, Va., helped the Wasps to its first spring break sweep (4-0) during Coach Barker’s 12 years of coaching. The Wasps are off to one of their best starts in recent history with a 10-2 overall record. Nelson is 10-1 on the season at #2 singles and 11-1 teaming up with Chip Wintringham at #1 doubles. This week Nelson was undefeated at both singles (4-0) and doubles (4-0) and gave up only seven games in four matches of singles play. The wins against against Heidelberg (6-3), Penn State-Behrend (7-2), Northwestern College (8-1) and Juniata (9-0).

Singles/#1 Doubles
White helped W&L to a 2-0 week by going 2-0 at No. 1
singles and 2-0 while teaming with Mac Davis and Jeremy Becht at
No. 2 doubles. In an 8-1 win over Roanoke on Thursday, White
notched a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jon Roy at No. 1 singles and teamed
with Mac Davis to knock off Alex Lyons and Matt Nadolny at No. 2
doubles, 8-1. In a 5-4 win over Mary Washington on Saturday,
White posted a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles and teamed with Jeremy
Becht to win 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. For the year, White is
16-4 in singles and 8-3 in doubles play.
