JEREMY BECHT, Washington and Lee, Junior, No. 2 Singles, No. 2 Doubles

Becht, a junior from Woodstock, Ga., helped lead the Generals to a 2-0 week with wins over Bridgewater (9-0) and 25th-ranked Salisbury (8-1).  In the win over Bridgewater, he posted a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Brad DeWitt at No. 2 singles and teamed with junior Jonathan Gaffney to defeat DeWitt and Brent Floyd at No. 2 doubles by a score of 8-4.  In the win over Salisbury, Becht produced a 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (3) win over David Lupinetti at No. 2 singles and teamed with Gaffney to defeat Lupinetti and Henry Stuhler at No. 2 doubles, 8-3.  For the year, Becht is 6-3 in singles and 2-1 in doubles.

Tyler Mercier, Guilford, Freshman, No. 1 Singles, No. 1 Doubles
Mercier won Guilford’s lone match against Methodist, playing first singles... suffered first loss of the season in doubles… defeated Ferrum in both doubles and singles… for doubles Mercier, teams with Clayton Hamilton… overall doubles record of 4-1… overall singles record of 5-0.

Jason Corsbie, Randolph, Freshman, No. 3 Singles, No. 3 Doubles
Corsbie enjoyed his first week of intercollegiate tennis as the first-year won decisively in both of his matches, lifting the WildCats to two non-conference victories over D-II Virginia Union and NAIA UVA-Wise.
