Pugh, a senior from Augusta, Ga., started off the week by breezing to a 6-0, 6-1 win against Ferrum at #1 singles, and then took care of business in 8-0 fashion at #2 doubles. In a match featuring two of the best singles players in the ODAC, Pugh downed W&L’s Hayden White (ranked 10th in the Atlantic South Region by the ITA) 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Pugh and his teammate fell 5-8 in No. 1 doubles against the Generals.

Doubles
Mercier went 3-3 for the week at first singles and first
doubles… took CNU’s Eric Shulman to three sets before
falling to the region’s third-ranked singles player…
did not allow a point in a straight-set over Randolph’s Sam
Churchill… went 2-1 in three first doubles matches…
teamed with Clayton Hamilton for a first doubles win and
Guilford’s lone point versus regionally ranked Washington
College.
Michael Freeman, Washington and Lee, Junior, No. 3/4
Singles, No. 3 Doubles
Freeman helped lead Washington and Lee to a 2-0 week in
ODAC play by going 2-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles. In a
9-0 win over Randolph on Tuesday, Freeman posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at
No. 3 singles and then teamed with sophomore Hayden White to notch
an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles. In a 7-2 win over Hampden-Sydney
on Friday, he recorded a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles. For
the season, Freeman has registered an 8-4 singles record and a 9-0
doubles mark.
