Graham Wilson, Virginia Wesleyan, Freshman

Wilson, a freshman from Newport News, Va., opened with a 6-4, 6-5 win at #1 singles over Hampden-Sydney, and then followed that 8-1 at #1 doubles with classmate Drew Tomajczyk.  Wilson then helped the Marlins to a 5-2 win over Guilford in the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals with a 8-6 win at #1 doubles with Tomajczyk.  Wilson is now 23-6 overall in 2012-13. His victories total is a rookie record at VWC and ties the third highest overall victory total in program history. He is 17-4 at the No. 1 flight in singles, which is also a VWC rookie record for wins at the flight and ties the overall VWC record for wins at the No. 1 flight. He and Tomajczyk are riding a seven-match winning streak at #1 doubles.

Men's Tennis Honor Roll

Matt Nelson, Emory & Henry - (Sr., 3S / 1D - Galax, Va. / Galax HS)
Nelson led third-seeded Emory & Henry to a 5-0 sweep of Roanoke Saturday in the ODAC Tournament Quarterfinals. Nelson earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles and teamed up with senior Adam Henderson (Abingdon, Va.) for an 8-6 win at the top doubles flight.  For the year, Nelson is 14-1 in dual singles matches and posted an 8-1 record in ODAC competition.

John Adam, Randolph-Macon College - (Fr., 3/2 - Vienna, VA / James Madison)
Adam went 3-2 over R-MC's two matches last week, posting a 2-0 record at #3 singles and 1-2 mark at #2 doubles.  He opened with a 7-6, 7-5 win against Catholic and dropping a tightly contested 9-7 doubles match. Adam grabbed a pair of wins to wrap up the regular season against Lynchburg. The Vienna, Va. native won 6-1, 6-1 in singles and 8-5 in doubles.
