Will Bannister, Washington and Lee, Sr., #2 Singles, #1 Doubles

Bannister, a senior from Bath, England, went 4-0 in singles play at the #2 flight and 2-2 at #1 doubles as Washington and Lee went 3-1 in four matches last week. Bannister and teammate Charlie Kittredge won 8-6 at doubles against Bridgewater, with Bannister adding a 6-2, 6-0 win in singles action. He then grabbed singles wins against Hampden-Sydney and 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon via 6-3, 6-4 and 2-6, 7-5, 10-5 results, respectively. He and Kittredge fell in a tight doubles showdown with H-SC, 9-7, and dropped an 8-4 decision to CMU. Bannister rebounded for an 8-3 win with Jordan Krasner in doubles play against Guilford, and capped his week with a 7-5, 7-5 singles victory. For the season, Bannister is 12-6 in singles play and 12-9 with all partners in doubles matches.

Smedley posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at #3 singles and joined Levi Bruff for an 8-4 win at #3 doubles in the Quakers 5-4 win over Hampden-Sydney. The duo won 8-5 at #3 doubles against W&L, but Smedley fell 6-2, 7-5 at #3 singles in the Quakers' 8-1 setback.

Moody and his brother, Michael, handed W&L duo Will Bannister and Charlie Kittredge their first conference loss of the season with a 9-7 result at #1 doubles in H-SC's 8-1 setback to the Generals. Moody fell at #1 singles, 6-1, 6-2. He rebounded for a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) triumph from the top flight against Guilford, and he and his brother won 8-5 at #1 doubles to account for two of H-SC's four points in the Tigers' 5-4 loss to GC.

Curnow won 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 at #4 singles and joined Stuart McCroskey for an 8-6 win at #2 doubles in Randolph-Macon's 6-3 victory over Southern Virginia.

Jose Alvarado, Roanoke (Jr.)
Alvarado posted a 7-5, 6-1 win at #2 singles and joined Holden Branham for an 8-3 win at #1 doubles in the Maroons' 7-2 victory over Emory & Henry.
