Buckingham, a junior from Herndon, Va., scored nine goals and added an assist as the Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team rolled to a pair of ODAC victories at Virginia Wesleyan College and Bridgewater. She added five ground balls and seven draw controls for the week. She opened the stretch with a four-goal day in a 14-8 win over the Marlins in which she also added three draw controls and five groundballs. Buckingham recorded five goals and an assist in the Hornets 18-7 triumph over the Eagles. Buckingham currently leads the ODAC with 35 goals scored.
Women's Lacrosse Honor Roll
Caitlin Costello,
Bridgewater, Sophomore, Attack
Costello racked up seven goals and an assist in a 1-1 week
for the Eagles. She notched three goals and a helper in a
17-7 win over Hollins. She followed that up with four scores
in BC's loss to Lynchburg
Summer Frazier, Guilford, Junior, Midfielder
Frazier scored seven points on six goals and one assists in the
Quakers weekend matches with Virginia Wesleyan College and
Christopher Newport University… also tallied five ground
balls, five draw controls, and caused two turnovers… scored
a team- and season-high four goals against the Marlins on
Saturday… added a season-high five ground balls versus
Virginia Wesleyan… scored twice and picked up a season-high
four draw controls at CNU.
Erin Clare Cassidy, Randolph-Macon, Senior,
Attack
Cassidy led the Randolph-Macon attack this week with seven
goals and nine assists in the Yellow Jackets’ wins over
Randolph College and Sweet Briar College. Against the WildCats,
Cassidy scored five goals on five shots along with three assists
and five draw controls. The senior attacker was a standout against
Sweet Briar on Saturday, notching two goals on three shots, six
assists and six draw controls. Cassidy was also a factor on the
defensive end, causing six turnovers and scooping up two
groundballs.
Courtney Williams, Virginia Wesleyan, Junior, Attack
Williams remained a consistent leader for VWC, emerging as
the scoring leader against Lynchburg and as one of the scoring
leaders against Guilford. She also recorded a career-high
eight draw control wins against Guilford. Williams leads VWC
scoring with 28 goals and 32 points. The Marlins are 4-5
overall and 2-1 in the ODAC.
Katharine Farrar, Washington and Lee, Senior,
Goalkeeper
Farrar led the No. 14 Generals to a 17-10 victory over
ODAC-foe Roanoke College on Thursday evening. Farrar played all
60:00 in net, recording 13 saves while collecting three ground
balls.
