Shannon Timoney, Washington and Lee, Jr., Midfielder

Timoney, a junior from Mendham, N.J. helped Washington and Lee moved up four spots in the IWLCA national rankings to #4 with a pair of victories over top-caliber programs. Timoney opened with a career-high five-point game on four goals and an assist in an 11-8 triumph at Christopher Newport University. She picked up two ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers while also corralling one draw. Timoney got the Generals comeback started against traditional power Salisbury University, leading to W&L's 6-5 triumph over the now fifth-ranked Sea Gulls. Trailing 4-2 at one period, Timoney opened second-quarter scoring with a goal to key the Generals turnaround. She added a ground ball and a draw control to her line. Through three games, Timoney has scored seven goals with one assist.
