Julia Thomson, Washington and Lee, Jr., Midfielder

Thomson, a junior from Larchmont, N.Y., picks up her first weekly award of the season after helping nationally fourth-ranked Washington and Lee to a pair of victories last week including their third win over a top-10 ranked opponent of the season. The Generals now stand 5-0 overall to start head coach Maddie Coleman's career. Thomson scored once in the Generals 22-0 shutout of Ferrum on the road in their ODAC opener. She then not only registered four points at Gettysburg College, but came up in the clutch three times as Washington and Lee took down the perennial power and nationally seventh-ranked Bullets, 10-9, in overtime. Thomson opened the Generals scoring with 7:11 on the first quarter clock to make it 2-1 Gettysburg. Later, with W&L trailing 9-6 in the fourth quarter, she scored the last two of a three-goal run over the final 1:57 to game time to force overtime. Thomson's two goals came with 0:30 and 0:16 on the clock, respectively. She added her final clutch moment with 2:56 showing on the board in extra time as she supplied the feed to Jenny Lisovicz for the game-deciding goal. For the season, Thomson has registered eight points on six goals and two assists.
