Virginia Wesleyan Owns Top Billing
SALEM, Va. --- Virginia
Wesleyan College maintained the top spot in the ODAC women's soccer
standings through the final week of play, earning the #1 seed into
the league's conference tournament. The Marlins, ranked
11th in the nation, sit ahead of Lynchburg College, the
second seed in the tournament and third-rated team in the
nation. Washington and Lee University enters as the three
seed with Roanoke College holding down the fourth seed.
Eastern Mennonite University occupies the fifth slot for the
postseason tourney while Guilford College enters as the six
seed. Tie-breakers decided the final two positions.
Randolph-Macon College emerged as the seventh seed with Bridgewater
College capping the field as the eighth seed.
ODAC tournament action begins Saturday, November 1, with four
quarterfinal matchups to be played at the highest four seeds.
The winners will play Wednesday, November 5, at the two highest
remaining seeds. The ODAC Championship will take place on
Saturday, November 8, on the campus of the remaining highest
seed.
