Mertens, a senior from Succasunna, N.J., continues to produce results in multiples as she put together a 10-point week featuring a pair of two goal games to help Lynchburg to a 2-0-1 record last week. In a matchup of two nationally 18th-ranked programs, Lynchburg -- ranked #18 by D3soccer.com -- tied Bridgewater -- ranked #18 by the United Soccer Coaches -- tied 2-2. Mertens scored the game's first two goals inside of the first six minutes before BC scored two in the second half to lock the contest. Mertens picked up her third goal of the week in a 10-0 ODAC win over Sweet Briar. She was back to scoring multiple goals in the Hornets third game as she found the net twice in a 6-1 win over Salem College. For the season, Mertens leads the ODAC in points (45) and goals scored (20). She is the sixth player in Lynchburg history to register a 20-goal season, and now ranks sixth all-time at Lynchburg with 54 career goals scored.
