Shyenne Diaz, Virginia Wesleyan, Fy., Forward

Diaz, a first-year from Virginia Beach, Va., kicked off her collegiate career with a pair of game-winning goals to help Virginia Wesleyan open the new season with two wins. Diaz's first winner came in a 1-0 victory over preseason 10th-ranked McDaniel College. She took a feed from Alexis Miller and shook her defender on the way to the game's only goal in the 62nd minute. There was a bit more drama to Diaz's second collegiate goal in the Marlins 1-0 victory over the College of St. Benedict, which held #1 Christopher Newport to a 1-0 result the day before. Diaz peppered four shots at the Bennies' net, but it was her 85th minute effort that was on-target as she took a quick pass from Alexandria Soteriou and pushed it past the keeper for a second single-goal triumph for VWU.
