Marissa Cifuentes, Virginia Wesleyan, Fr., No. 3 Singles, No. 1/2/3 Doubles

Cifuentes, a freshman from Virginia Beach, Va., put together a 7-1 overall showing between action at #3 singles and all three doubles flights for the Marlins.  She posted singles wins over Sweet Briar College (6-0, 6-1 over Raifsnider), Guilford College (6-1, 6-0 over Giles), Randolph-Macon College (6-3, 6-2 over McDonald) and PSU-Abington (6-0, 6-1).  She and partner Hannah Rice topped SBC (8-1 over Fletcher/Rutledge) and GC (8-3 over Prokosch/Stern) at #2 doubles, but the duo fell to R-MC (8-2 to Ogunshina/Grice) at the third flight.  Cifuentes and Mia Proctor teamed up for #1 doubles action against PSU-Abington, posting an 8-1 win.

Women's Tennis Honor Roll

Allison Hewitt, Guilford (Jr. - Loxachatchee, Fla.)
Hewitt went 2-2 for the Quakers, posting a #2 singles win over Virginia Wesleyan (6-0, 6-1) and #1 doubles victory with Haley Andrews over the Marlins (8-4).

Angelina Sportelli, Randolph-Macon (So. - Mechanicsville, Va.)
Sportelli posted #1 singles (6-1, 6-1) and #1 doubles (8-3 with Toni McDonald) wins over VWC win the Yellow Jackets 8-1 team victory.

Chelsea Mixson, Washington and Lee (Sr. - Beaufort, S.C.)
Mixson went 3-0 overall for W&L, posting #1 singles (6-3, 6-4) and #1 doubles (8-0 with Meghan Buell) wins over Guilford in the Generals 5-0 triumph.  She also posted a #2 doubles win (8-0 with Buell) over Shenandoah as part of a 9-0 W&L victory.
