Sonja Meighan, Washington and Lee, Sr., #1 Singles, #1 Doubles

Meighan, a senior from McLean, Va., put together a 3-0 week that included singles and doubles wins over Sweet Briar in the ODAC quarterfinals.  Meighan, ranked third on the Atlantic South Region singles players charts by the ITA, started her week with a win at #1 singles over regionally fifth-ranked Sewanee.  She topped Bronte Goodhue 6-0, 6-1, who is the fifth ranked singles player in the Atlantic South.  Meighan and partner Patricia Kirkland, the top tandem in the region, took down Goodhue and Lindsey Liles, 8-6, the third-rated duo by the ITA.  In the quarterfinals, Meighan and Kirkland won 8-0 over SBC in #1 doubles play.  Her match against Caitlin Delmas at #1 singles went unfinished.

Women's Tennis Honor Roll

Kelsie Grice, Randolph-Macon (So. - Hoover, Ala.)
Grice 6-1, 6-1, over E&H at #2 singles in the regular season finale, and teamed with Angelina Sportelli for an 8-0 at #1 doubles against the Wasps.  The duo then won 8-1 versus Shenandoah in the ODAC quarterfinals, with Grice adding a 6-0, 6-1 win in singles play.

Maria Hawkins, Bridgewater (So. - Silver Spring, Md.)
Hawkins dropped singles (6-0, 6-3) and doubles (8-0) matches to Washington and Lee, but rebounded to post #1 singles victories over Shenandoah and Randolph, the latter coming in the ODAC quarterfinals.  She won 6-3, 6-0 against SU and 6-1, 6-0 over Randolph.  She and Marla O'Bryan won 8-2 at #1 doubles against the Hornets, while Hawkins teamed with Whitney Cash versus the WildCats for an 8-3 doubles triumph.
