Taylor Garcia, Washington and Lee, Jr., #1 Singles, #1 Doubles

Garcia, a junior from Mandeville, La., had a busy week in helping Washington and Lee to a 4-0 showing against ODAC opponents and a 1-1 mark in non-conference ranked matches. Garcia, who 4-1 in top flight singles play and 3-1 in #1 doubles action with partner Margaret Charlton, led off her week with two points in a 5-2 win over Virginia Wesleyan. She and Charlton won 8-1 in doubles with Garcia adding a 6-1, 6-1 win over Alexa Brewster in singles action. She and Charlton took an 8-4 loss in doubles with Garcia falling 6-4, 6-1 to Abby Moghtader in singles play as the #18 Generals fell to #15 Mary Washington, 6-3. Garcia and Charlton rebounded against Lynchburg with an 8-6 doubles win. Garcia added a 6-2, 6-2 singles win over Christina Harris on the way to a 9-0 team triumph. W&L pulled out a 7-2 result over #31 Christopher Newport. Garcia and Charlton won 8-7 (7-5) with Garcia adding a 6-1, 6-2 win over Reagan Delp in singles play. Garcia capped her week with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Grace Holderman as part of W&L's 9-0 win over Randolph-Macon. For the season, Garcia is 7-2 overall in singles matches and 5-3 in doubles play, all from the top flight.
